Lead Product Engineer (Developer Platform)

Is this job info correct?

Lead Product Engineer (Developer Platform) You’ll shape how developers build on bunny.net, working across product decisions, prototypes, code, docs, and everything in between. Apply for This Job About bunny.net Some people accept the internet as it is. We see what it could be. At bunny.net, we don’t wait for change. We make it happen. You won’t find layers of red tape or play-it-safe thinking here. You’ll find people who move quickly, take ownership, and push ideas all the way to the edge. Literally. You’ll build things that solve actual problems, not add to them. We’re not perfect, and we don’t pretend to be. But we’re always improving. We’re looking for people who want to do the same, who take pride in their work, and aren’t afraid to challenge what’s possible. Because everyone deserves a better internet. And we’re here to help it hop faster. Lead Product Engineer (Developer Platform) What if you could design the way developers ship their workloads to the edge, starting from a blank page? As a Lead Product Engineer at bunny.net, you'll own the Developer Platform and lead a small team of engineers. We already give developers the pieces to run compute close to their users: Magic Containers, Edge Scripting, and Database. What's missing is the glue: the part that turns a set of products into one obvious way to say "deploy my workload to bunny." That glue is yours: projects, environments like dev, staging, and production, secrets shared at the right level, logs you can actually read, and a container that talks to a database without a detour through the docs. Product Engineering sits inside Engineering. There's no Product Manager handing over requirements: you carry the product responsibilities yourself, and you shape solutions with your engineers in the codebase, not just in the conversation. How much you build yourself depends on you and on what the team needs, but shipping code is part of the role, not a bonus. It’s a role for someone who loves both the why and the how, combining strong product judgment with technical depth, and knowing when to get hands-on and when to help others find the way forward. You’ll have the context to see the bigger picture, the freedom to challenge assumptions, and teams that challenge your thinking right back. If you love being close to developers, turning a blank page into something people ship on every day, and helping a team get the details right, you'll feel right at home here. What will you do? Design the primitives developers use, such as projects, environments, secrets, and logs, and how they behave across Magic Containers, Edge Scripting, and Database, so deploying, configuring, connecting, and debugging a workload on bunny.net feels like one product Shape Developer Platform product direction from discovery through delivery and iteration, turning developer insights into clear priorities Spot and resolve platform or product decisions that break the unified developer experience before they ship Bring clarity to hard problems and give teams the context to make great decisions on their own, raising the bar for product thinking, technical judgment, and ownership beyond your own team Lead a small engineering team: set direction, develop people, give clear feedback, and hold a high bar for what you ship and run Build alongside your engineers across prototypes, APIs, dashboard, instrumentation, docs, and production code Define and measure success, from first deploy to adoption and expansion, and use what you learn to decide what comes next Work across Compute, Frontend, Design, and Product Marketing to create a cohesive experience across the dashboard, API, CLI, and docs What will you bring? Ideally, you’ve owned the full discovery → delivery → iteration loop at meaningful scale, or you’re ready to take on that level of end-to-end ownership Strong product judgment and a knack for turning messy, ambiguous problems into meaningful outcomes Comfort with data: knowing what to measure, what funnels and retention curves are telling you, and when to run an experiment Business and market literacy: ICP, pricing, competition, revenue drivers, and how your product supports bunny.net's wider strategy Strong technical depth to challenge solutions, make trade-offs, and ship production changes yourself A high bar for quality, reliability, performance, security, and customer trust A track record of helping others make better decisions and take more ownership Clear communication, high ownership, and low ego AI fluency: using AI thoughtfully across research, analysis, prototyping, coding, testing, and communication, while staying accountable for quality What will make us extra happy? Experience building developer platforms, deployment tools, or products where the developer experience is the product You've deployed, configured, and debugged your own workloads on similar platforms You’re as comfortable talking to customers as you are digging into the technology You naturally think beyond individual features and see how products, systems, and teams fit together Experience leading engineers: developing people, giving feedback, and creating the conditions for a team to make product decisions rather than execute tasks Where should you be located? Europe, ideally within CET ±3 hours so collaboration with the team feels natural rather than scheduled. What's in it for you? Life at bunny.net comes with benefits that make work (and life) better. 100% flexible hours - Your work, your rhythm. Whether you thrive at 3 am or on a beach at noon, we've got you.
