We’re building a new company inside Mongoose, the technology and AI team of TriEdge Investments.
Through our work with healthcare operators, we’ve seen the same gap repeatedly. The software these businesses run on was built for a different era. Existing products digitize old workflows rather than rethinking them, and they leave large parts of the work manual.
We’re building the AI-native alternative. We’re starting with financial and administrative operations in post-acute care, with a vision to build a broader AI-native operating platform for the industry.
We operate as a startup, with a dedicated team, a single product focus, and design partners shaping what we build from day one. We also have something most startups don’t: direct access to operating companies, real workflows, and the backing of an established investment platform.
The Role
We’re hiring a Lead Product Manager to own this product from the ground up: vision, strategy, design, roadmap, and execution. You’ll work directly with our design partners and engineering team, and this will be your sole focus.
You’ll start by learning the market: how the work gets done today, who the existing players are, and where they fall short. From there you’ll define what we build first, prove it with design partners, and set the path from that first product to a broader platform.
You won’t be adding AI features to existing workflows. In an agentic world the work itself changes: AI agents do the work, and people supervise, handle exceptions, and make judgment calls. Your job is to design that new way of working and turn it into software people trust and want to use.
What You’ll Do
Map the market. Study existing products, incumbents, and emerging AI players, and form a clear view of where an AI-native product can win.
Learn the work up close. Work directly with design partners and industry experts to understand current workflows, where they break down, and what users actually need.
Define the path from first product to platform. Find the highest-value place to start, validate it with design partners, and build toward a broader platform without designing yourself into a corner.
Reimagine the workflow. Decide what AI agents should do, what people should do, and how the two work together. Don’t digitize the process that exists today.
Choose the right technology for each task. Decide where to apply predictive models, LLMs, agentic workflows, deterministic rules, and human review to get reliable results.
Define how the product proves it’s right. Set accuracy targets, evaluation sets, and audit trails, and decide the points where people review AI output before it leaves the system.
Prototype fast. Build and test ideas with design partners, often with your own prototypes, before engineering commits.
Turn complexity into simple experiences. Work with design to make sophisticated, AI-driven workflows feel intuitive.
Partner with engineering. Weigh technical approaches, make tradeoffs, and turn concepts into reliable, production-ready software.
Build for commercial success. Understand the economics of the problems we’re solving, validate value with design partners, and know when a partner’s request doesn’t belong in a product built for the broader market.
Own outcomes. Define success metrics and take responsibility for quality, adoption, and measurable operational results.
About You
You’ve built products from scratch and shipped them, not just specified them. You’ve taken software from an idea to a launched product while the requirements and the market were still being worked out.
You think in AI-native terms. You don’t ask how to make an existing process faster. You ask whether the process should exist in its current form at all.
10+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time in startups or early-stage product environments.
Demonstrated zero-to-one ownership: you’ve personally led a software product from research and concept through launch and adoption.
Experience building complex B2B or enterprise software, ideally involving operational workflows, data-heavy processes, or automation.
Hands-on experience designing and shipping AI-powered products, with a strong understanding of machine learning, LLMs, and agentic AI. You know their capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs, how to combine them with traditional software, and how to build AI systems where accuracy, evaluation, and human oversight are critical. Experience training models is not required.
Strong product strategy and commercial judgment: market research, competitive analysis, understanding the economics of a problem, and turning that into a differentiated product people will pay for.
Strong discovery skills: working with design partners, mapping complex workflows, and finding unmet needs.
Strong design instincts and experience turning complex requirements into intuitive user experiences.
Comfort building your own prototypes with modern AI tools to test ideas quickly. You don’t need to be an engineer.
Technical fluency, including APIs, integrations, data architecture, and modern software development.
Deep understanding of healthcare operations, or a track record of quickly reaching expert-level understanding of a complex, regulated industry.
Comfort with ambiguity and full individual ownership.
Bachelor’s degree minimum
Nice to Have
Experience in post-acute care (skilled nursing, home health, hospice, or related services).
Experience with the financial and administrative operations of healthcare providers: compliance-heavy, high-volume operational work.
Why Join Mongoose
The gap is real. The products in this market weren’t built for what AI can do now. There’s room to build something better, not just something newer.
You start with access. We already work with operators across this ecosystem. Your first design partners won’t come from cold outreach, and you’ll build on real workflows and real data rather than assumptions.
One product, full ownership. You’ll lead a single product from day one, with the pace and freedom of a startup and the backing of an established platform.
Your work ships. What you build will be running inside real businesses and producing measurable results.Location
