Is this job info correct?

About the Role We're looking for a Product Lead to own the Family Safety capability domain—spanning household protection across multiple consumer needs and life stages. You'll think about how to protect different household members, what features matter for each scenario, and what customers care about most. You'll define the capability roadmap, set product requirements, and drive alignment across engineering, design, and business teams to ship what matters. This is a high-ownership role. You'll own the capability roadmap, define product requirements that engineering builds from, work closely with the UX team on how capabilities surface, and make decisions on what to build in-house, what to extend from existing products, and what to vendor. You'll navigate device OS complexity and regulatory constraints, and move decisions forward without needing formal authority. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Roadmap Own the Family Safety capability roadmap. Prioritize the backlog and make decisions on what ships when. Define what capabilities the product needs to ship. Balance competing priorities across multiple household protection scenarios. Make build vs. extend vs. vendor decisions. Own the strategic and economic case: distinguish table-stakes capabilities from differentiators, and build the argument for where to own vs. where to vendor based on competitive positioning, integration benefits, and economics. Requirements & Specification Write product requirements that define what capabilities engineering builds. Own the details: edge cases, device constraints, cross-surface implications. Close open questions on capability definition. Work with the UX team on how features surface, with engineering on feasibility, with legal/privacy on compliance. Define success metrics for each capability. Cross-Functional Execution Serve as the connective tissue between the UX team, engineering, legal/privacy, business stakeholders, and partner product leadership. Run planning and alignment sessions. Keep decisions moving without formal authority. Work with partner product teams to structure capabilities in ways that are integrable via APIs and SDKs—ensuring partners can build on what you define without requiring heavy custom engineering. Navigate device OS fragmentation, cross-device enforcement complexity, and the different constraints across platforms. Regulatory Navigation Work with legal, privacy, and government relations teams to navigate baseline compliance (COPPA, GDPR) and fast-moving regional mandates (age verification, time-limited access, parental control interoperability requirements across EU, UK, France, and other jurisdictions). Define how regulatory evolution shapes capability roadmap and sequencing. Navigate platform-specific constraints (Apple MDM exceptions, browser limitations, OS-level enforcement) as they interact with regulatory requirements. Support business development by translating regulatory requirements into capability features that unlock partnership and GTM opportunities. Stakeholder Communication Communicate capability priorities, tradeoffs, and timelines to senior leadership, the UX team, engineering, and product partners. Write crisply—product briefs and strategy documents that drive decisions. About You Required 3–8+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning a consumer product with complexity (multi-device, multi-user, cross-platform, or regulatory constraint). Demonstrated track record shipping products end-to-end: from discovery through launch and iteration based on real user feedback. Strong technical fluency. You can reason about device constraints, cross-device communication, API feasibility, and long-term architectural implications without needing every detail explained twice. Exceptional written and verbal communication. You write product briefs and strategy memos that move decisions. You can present to senior leadership and explain complex tradeoffs crisply. Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across teams you don't control—especially between UX, engineering, and business stakeholders with competing priorities. Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools in product work—from requirements gathering and competitive analysis to documentation and decision-making. Strongly Preferred Experience in safety-critical or privacy-sensitive products (parental controls, identity, financial security, content moderation, health). Background in family-oriented products, mobile security, or consumer protection. Understanding of device OS constraints, mobile platform limitations, or cross-device enforcement. Experience translating evolving regulations into product requirements and roadmap priorities—especially in highly regulated markets (EU, UK, US) or fast-moving regulatory environments. Personal Attributes Ownership mentality. You own decisions and outcomes. You don't hand off hard questions—you close them. You see decisions through to completion. Systems thinker. You hold the full product in your head while executing quarterly work. You understand how parental controls and elder care fit together, and how device constraints ripple through the roadmap. Decisive under ambiguity. You make calls on scope, priority, and tradeoffs without perfect information. You move faster than perfect consensus allows. Low ego, high drive. You get to alignment without authority. You care about the right answer more than owning the idea. High standards for clarity. You catch vague requirements, ask the right clarifying questions, and close ambiguity before handoff to engineering. Location: Mountain View, CA and NYC (Onsite 3 days per week) The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $175,000 and $2,000. Base salary is one component of Gen's total compensation package, which includes 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role. What’s Next…. After you submit your application, you can expect the following steps in the recruitment process: · TA Call · Hiring Manager (Virtual) · Peer (Virtual) · Peer (Virtual) · Final Interview – Department Head (Virtual or face-to-face)
