ABOUT THE ROLE

Itero Australia is a specialist contractor delivering complex access and remediation solutions across mining, marine, offshore, and infrastructure sectors. We are seeking an experienced Scaffold Designer / Temporary Works Draftsperson to design high-consequence, non-traditional access systems (e.g., hung, suspended, cantilevered, and V-Deck systems) for highly complex environments & load restricted assets.


KY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review scope/ client supplied drawings & import into our design software accurately.
  • Collaboration: Partner with operations, supervisors, and access SME’s to identify effective access methodologies to complete the scope.
  • Design & Draft concept designs to enable accurate tendering of the scope
  • Develop detailed scaffold layouts, loading plans, tie schedules, and encapsulation designs that enable engineering review.
  • Engineering Prep: Provide accurate loading calculations for engineering review and draft custom component fabrications.
  • Site Scoping: Review client drawings and conduct occasional site visits or design reviews.
  • Develop final designs ready for mobilisation of a standard to enable 3rd party & client engineering reviews


REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • The Ideal Candidate: A practical, solutions-oriented designer who enjoys solving access challenges that fall outside traditional approaches and understands how systems are actually built in the field.
  • Experience: Proven track record in industrial scaffold design, hung/suspended systems, and complex temporary works.
  • Software: Proficiency in Inventor 3D, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks and other software applicable to scaffold design.

Highly Regarded (Not Mandatory):

  • High-risk work licences: Advanced Scaffolding, Advanced Rigging, or Rope Access.
  • Sector experience: Mining, marine infrastructure, offshore facilities, or heavy remediation projects.
  • Qualifications: Engineering qualifications are advantageous but are not a requirement for the right person with extensive scaffold design and temporary works experience.
