About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Lead Software Developer with strong experience in building, modernizing, and supporting enterprise applications using C#, .NET, SQL Server, APIs, and Microsoft Azure. The role manages a small team of developers and serves as the technical lead for assigned enterprise applications and services.

The candidate will own technical delivery, guide solution design, resolve complex engineering problems, review code, coach developers, and manage team members. Demonstrated experience applying AI-assisted development across the software development lifecycle is mandatory, along with practical exposure to creating or integrating AI-enabled application features, APIs, workflows, or proofs of concept. This is a software engineering and technical leadership role, not a data science or AI model research position.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Platform Engineering

· Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, and Web API.

· Build secure, reliable, and scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations; modernize existing .NET applications while maintaining business-critical platform stability.

· Develop efficient data-access solutions using SQL Server and Entity Framework; integrate internal services, external APIs, and enterprise data sources.

· Implement caching and asynchronous processing using technologies such as Redis and RabbitMQ.

· Ensure application performance, security, reliability, code quality, and maintainability.

AI-Assisted & AI-Integrated Engineering

· Apply AI-assisted development across solution design, coding, refactoring, testing, code review, troubleshooting, and documentation.

· Identify opportunities to use AI to improve developer productivity, software quality, and delivery efficiency.

· Create or integrate AI-enabled features within enterprise applications, APIs, and engineering workflows.

Technical Leadership & People Management

· Manage a small team of developers, including work allocation, delivery follow-up, regular feedback, performance appraisals, development discussions, and leave approvals.

· Support team hiring and replacement needs by defining role requirements, screening candidates, conducting technical interviews, and contributing to selection decisions.

· Act as a technical lead for assigned enterprise applications and services, covering technical design, delivery, system health, production support, and continuous improvement.

· Guide technical decisions within established enterprise architecture, security, and platform standards; partner with business analysts, product stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions and communicate risks, dependencies, and delivery concerns.

Cloud, DevOps & Delivery

· Develop and support applications hosted on Microsoft Azure using Git-based workflows and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

· Implement automated unit and integration testing and collaborate with DevOps and platform teams on deployment and configuration.

· Promote secure development, observability, and reliable release practices.

Reliability, Collaboration & Coaching

· Own production troubleshooting through monitoring, root-cause analysis, improved failure handling, and sustainable corrective actions; collaborate with technical and business stakeholders while building team capability through code review, knowledge sharing, and coaching.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

· 8+ years of professional software development experience, typically within the 8-to-12-year range.

· Strong experience building and supporting enterprise-grade applications, managing a small development team, and providing hands-on technical leadership.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision and resolve difficult or complex engineering problems.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

Must-Have Skills

· Advanced hands-on experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and REST API design and integration.

· Strong knowledge of SQL Server, relational data modelling, query & stored procedures development, and Entity Framework or equivalent data-access technologies.

· Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Git, automated testing, and DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

· Experience with production debugging, logging, exception handling, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.

· Experience reviewing code, providing technical direction, coaching developers, and leading delivery while remaining hands-on.

Mandatory AI Skills

· Demonstrated hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools across multiple stages of the software development lifecycle.

· Ability to validate and improve AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and engineering quality.

· Practical exposure to creating or integrating AI-enabled application features, APIs, workflows, or proofs of concept.

Secondary / Nice-to-Have Skills

· MongoDB or another NoSQL database; Redis or another distributed cache; RabbitMQ or another enterprise messaging platform.

· Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Hugging Face, or comparable AI platforms and tools.

· Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure Kubernetes Service; ReactJS and TypeScript.

· Legacy .NET modernization, client onboarding, data integrations, reporting systems, or externally consumed APIs.

· Financial services, investment management, risk, reporting, application security, performance testing, or AI governance.
