Join Wärtsilä as a Lead Software Engineer and drive the development of advanced Siemens Teamcenter and Active Workspace (AWC) solutions that enable digital engineering excellence. In this role, you'll lead complex PLM customizations, integrations and modernization initiatives, collaborate with global stakeholders and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that support Wärtsilä's digital transformation journey. Working with cutting-edge technologies, you'll play a key role in shaping future-ready engineering systems and best practices.
Location: Navi Mumbai, India (Hybrid- Work Setting)
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test and maintain Teamcenter Active Workspace customizations for Wärtsilä PDM/PLM solutions
- Implement AWC declarative configurations, including commands, panels, view models, conditions, stylesheets/XRT, search and object presentation.
- Develop and support Teamcenter server-side extensions using ITK, SOA services and BMIDE-based data-model changes.
- Assess requirements and recommend configuration, customization or de-customization approaches with focus on standard functionality, maintainability and upgrade readiness.
- Support interfaces and integrations between Teamcenter and engineering, design or in-house applications.
- Perform technical analysis, estimation, coding, peer review, unit testing, defect correction and deployment support.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and contribute to L2/L3 support, root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Contribute to Teamcenter/AWC upgrades by analysing deprecated functionality, refactoring custom code and validating regression-free operation.
- Create and maintain technical specifications, deployment instructions, support documentation and knowledge articles.
- Communicate changes, risks, dependencies and implementation status clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Work according to Wärtsilä quality, cybersecurity, safety, compliance and change-management practices.
- Collaborate in Agile/Scrum delivery and contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and reusable development practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Science or equivalent discipline.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in Siemens Teamcenter customization, active workspace, implementation or application development.
- Proven hands-on experience in Teamcenter Active Workspace customization and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of AWC declarative UI architecture and JavaScript-based development.
- Strong Teamcenter development experience with ITK and SOA.
- Practical experience designing and managing BMIDE-based schema and deployments.
- Good understanding of Teamcenter data model, workflows, access control, organization, saved queries and product structures.
- Experience with REST/web services, JSON and XML in enterprise integrations.
- Working knowledge of Git or equivalent source control, build/release practices and technical documentation.
- Ability to debug end-to-end issues across browser, AWC client, Teamcenter services and server-side customizations.
- Professional English communication skills and ability to collaborate with global stakeholders.
Good to have
- Experience with Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) modules.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Exposure to Teamcenter integrations with CAD, ERP, MES or other engineering platforms.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices for Teamcenter development and deployment.
- Experience in production support within an ITIL-oriented service environment.
