Show job description

Quility is a modern Insurtech company transforming how life insurance and financial wellness solutions are designed, delivered, and experienced. By blending advanced technology, data-driven insights, and a human-first approach, we empower agents and partners to offer streamlined, fully digital insurance experiences at scale. With thousands of independent agents nationwide and a growing suite of proprietary platforms and products, we are redefining the future of insurance distribution. Our corporate team drives innovation across every touchpoint, enabling families across America to access the protection and peace of mind they deserve. At Quility, we’re not just keeping up with industry change, we’re leading it.

Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Assignment Duration: Approximately 12–16 weeks

Quility builds the platform insurance agents use to run their business. We've consolidated several legacy apps

into one product, and next we're rebuilding those tools as next-generation experiences inside it. That means

complex workflows, dense data, and problems no one has fully defined yet.

We're looking for a lead UX/UI designer for a full-time, month-to-month temporary role covering a minimum of

4 months, with potential to extend. You'll step into active work from day one: first covering UI and design

system work, then leading user research and optimizing our UX workflows with AI. You'll join a UX leader and

a designer, and your work will shape both the product and how we work after you leave.

What You'll Do

  • Keep design work moving. Pick up in-flight features and deliver high-fidelity designs in Figma.
  • Work within our design system. Use existing components and patterns, and help organize and optimize how the team works with the system.
  • Partner with engineering. Write clear specs and handoff, and answer questions during build. Then: research, strategy and how we work
  • Plan and run user research. Interviews, usability tests and synthesis that turn into clear recommendations.
  • Shape product decisions. Frame problems with product and engineering, and weigh impact, feasibility and uncertainty.
  • Use AI as a working partner. In research, synthesis, prototyping and documentation, while you own the judgment.
  • Improve and document our process. Propose changes, test new tool features, and document what works.
  • Teach as you go. Share techniques with the team through pairing, short sessions and docs, so the gains outlast your time with us.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years designing digital products, with a portfolio that shows process, decisions and outcomes, not just final screens.
  • Strong UI craft in Figma: components, variants, auto layout, and working inside an existing design
  • system.
  • Hands-on research skills: you've planned, run and synthesized interviews and usability tests, and can show how findings changed a design.
  • Fast ramp-up: you've joined teams mid-project and been productive within your first week.
  • Complex B2B or enterprise experience: dashboards, tables, multi-step workflows, and users who live in the tool all day.
  • Practical AI fluency: you use AI tools in your real workflow and know where human expertise has to stayin charge.
  • Ownership and follow-through: you deliver what you commit to, track your own deadlines, and flag risks early with a proposed solution.
  • Clear, open communication: with the UX team and with stakeholders at every level. You share work early and often instead of working in a silo, keep the team updated through Teams and Jira, and you're comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback.
  • Proactive in ambiguity: you ask the right questions, state your assumptions, and keep work moving

Nice to Have

  • Insurance, fintech or other regulated-industry SaaS
  • Prior temporary, contract or consulting work embedded in an in-house team
  • Running workshops or teaching design or AI techniques to a team
  • Product analytics (e.g. Amplitude) used to form and test design hypotheses
  • Prototyping with code or AI prototyping tools
  • Information architecture for large navigation systems

How We Work

  • Small team, real ownership: you'll own meaningful problem areas from your first week.
  • Process is part of the job: everyone improves how we work, not just what we ship.
  • Shared hours: we work 9 to 5 ET together to keep collaboration fast.
  • Our tools: Figma, Jira, Confluence, Amplitude, Claude and Copilot
