We are working in partnership with Shape Talent, an award-winning leadership development, talent acceleration and gender equity consultancy. Shape Talent works with blue-chip organisations across the UK, Europe and internationally to strengthen leadership capability, accelerate diverse talent and remove barriers to career progression.
We are seeking an experienced Leadership Development Consultant / Facilitator to join their small, growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished leadership development professional with a strong background in corporate facilitation and coaching, who enjoys working with senior and aspiring leaders within large, complex and international organisations.
The role focuses on designing and delivering impactful leadership development programmes, coaching and behavioural change interventions. You will also contribute to client relationships, business development and the evolution of innovative leadership solutions, including those addressing the changing demands of leadership in the AI era.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme design and delivery: Design and facilitate leadership development programmes, workshops and behavioural change interventions for senior and emerging leaders, predominantly virtually, with some face-to-face delivery.
- Group and individual coaching: Facilitate group coaching and provide one-to-one coaching, mentoring and development support, helping individuals maximise their leadership impact and career progression.
- Development planning: Work with participants and their line managers to create structured development plans, identifying experiences and opportunities to accelerate progression.
- Client management: Lead client projects or programme workstreams, acting as the primary client contact and coordinating delivery with the Operations Lead and wider team.
- Client relationships and business development: Build trusted relationships, contribute to proposals and client meetings, and identify opportunities for programme extensions and further organisational development work.
- Programme development: Help shape and evolve innovative leadership solutions, keeping the consultancy's offering relevant to changing organisational needs.
- Market awareness: Keep abreast of developments in leadership, behavioural science, learning technologies and AI, contributing ideas to strengthen the consultancy's proposition.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a commercially astute leadership development professional with excellent facilitation and coaching skills and the credibility to engage confidently with senior corporate audiences.
You will ideally bring:
- Extensive leadership development and learning design experience, gained at Head of Learning & Development level within a large organisation or at senior level within a leadership or organisational development consultancy.
- A strong track record of designing and delivering leadership development and behavioural change programmes for senior audiences.
- A thorough understanding of leadership capability, talent development and career progression within complex organisations.
- Experience facilitating leadership workshops, group coaching and development programmes, both virtually and face-to-face.
- Experience of individual coaching, mentoring, 360-degree feedback and career development support.
- An accredited coaching qualification (ACC, PCC or equivalent), with a minimum of 200 coaching hours.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing client relationships, ideally within consultancy or professional services.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage and present to senior executives and stakeholders.
- An evidence-based approach, supported by an understanding of behavioural science, organisational psychology and effective learning methodologies.
- Strong project management, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple client programmes.
- Proven experience working remotely and using Microsoft Teams or similar platforms to deliver engaging virtual sessions and collaborate effectively.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability, with experience working across different organisations and international environments.
- The ability to navigate ambiguity, exercise sound professional judgement and work independently with initiative.
Desirable Experience:
- Designing and delivering women's leadership development programmes, with an understanding of the barriers women face in progressing into senior leadership.
- Certification in recognised psychometric and leadership assessment tools, including personality assessments and 360-degree feedback, with substantial experience delivering sensitive or high-stakes feedback (ideally 50–100+ sessions).
- Experience supporting large-scale AI adoption or transformation, particularly its implications for leadership capability, organisational culture and the future of work.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled learning tools and blended learning solutions.
- Postgraduate training in psychology or social sciences, or registration as a practising psychologist.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: £75,000 FTE, pro rata (£45,000 for three days per week).
- Hours: Part-time, three days per week, with flexible hours to be agreed.
- Holiday: 25 days annual leave pro rata (15 days for three days per week).
- Additional day off for your birthday.
- Fully remote working, with candidates required to be UK-based and able to travel to central London periodically.
- Occasional UK and international travel for client engagements and programme delivery.
- Enhanced benefits, including health and wellbeing perks, discounted services/memberships and volunteer days.
