As the Leadership, Performance & Talent Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how leadership, performance and talent are enabled across the organisation. This role is the enterprise lead for leadership, performance and talent, responsible for creating the systems, standards and conditions that support high performance at scale. You will ensure our leadership framework and performance approach are translated into clear, consistent and evidence led practices, helping leaders make better decisions, develop future capability and deliver long-term value. Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities Reporting to the Head of Talent, this is a strategic leadership role that sits at the heart of our People and Culture function. You will influence the future of leadership and organisational effectiveness across The Crown Estate by establishing a coherent and sustainable approach to performance, talent and succession. Key responsibilities include: Owning and evolving the enterprise wide leadership, performance and talent framework. Embedding leadership expectations and performance standards into everyday practice across the business. Leading the approach to talent identification, succession planning and leadership pipeline development. Using data, diagnostics and insight to assess capability, measure impact and inform investment decisions. Shaping leadership development and coaching strategies, ensuring programmes deliver meaningful performance outcomes. Providing governance and oversight of executive and senior hiring frameworks to ensure alignment with future capability needs and equitable decision making. Acting as the business owner for performance technology, driving adoption, governance and continuous improvement. Ensuring leadership, performance and talent decisions are fair, consistent, evidence based and aligned to organisational priorities. Working collaboratively across Business Partnering, Learning, Talent Acquisition, Reward and business leadership teams to deliver sustainable organisational impact. Most Important Skills Based Requirements We are seeking an experienced and credible leader who combines strategic thinking with a strong understanding of leadership, talent and organisational performance. You will bring: Significant experience designing and leading enterprise-wide leadership, performance and talent strategies aligned to business objectives. Strong expertise in evidence led practice, drawing on organisational psychology, behavioural science, assessment methodologies and workforce insights. Experience partnering with senior leaders and executives to influence complex talent, leadership and succession decisions. A track record of delivering outcomes through collaboration, influence and partnership rather than direct authority. Strong analytical capability, with experience using data and insight to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. The ability to balance organisational priorities, make strategic decisions and focus resources where they will create the greatest impact. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build trusted relationships.
