Learn more at www.buildrenew.com Position Overview: The Learning & Development Manager leads company-wide training and professional development for BUILD Renewables' corporate offices and utility-scale solar project sites. Partnering with Human Resources, Safety, Operations, Payroll, Compliance, Legal, and company leadership, this role identifies skill gaps, strengthens employee capabilities, supports career development, and promotes a consistent learning culture. The position also supports registered apprenticeship programs and training related to the Inflation Reduction Act's prevailing-wage and apprenticeship requirements. Essential Responsibilities Learning Strategy and Program Development Develop and implement a company-wide learning strategy aligned with business goals, workforce needs, and company core values. Assess training needs andestablishannual priorities, plans, calendars, budgets, and standards across corporate offices and active project sites. Design andfacilitateinstructor-led, virtual, and self-paced leadership, technical, compliance, andprofessional-developmentprograms. Create andmaintainpractical learning materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, participant resources, job aids, videos, and assessments. Coordinate training with internal subject-matter experts, external providers, consultants, and educational partners, ensuring contentremainsaccurateand current. Apprenticeship and Compliance Training Support the company's registered apprenticeship programs in partnership with Human Resources, Payroll, Compliance, Safety, Operations, Legal, and project leadership. Develop training and job aids covering prevailing-wage requirements, wage determinations, worker classifications, fringe benefits, apprenticeutilizationand ratios, certified payroll, timekeeping, recordkeeping, subcontractor responsibilities, and audit readiness. Coordinate apprentice onboarding, orientation, related technical instruction, on-the-job learning expectations, progression requirements, and supervisor resources. Support tracking of apprentice participation, training hours, competencies, and progression, ensuring records are complete and available for audits or program reviews. Communicate program and process updates, corrective actions, and lessons learned; escalate legal, classification, wage-determination, or regulatory-interpretation questions to theappropriate experts. Coordinate with apprenticeship committees, educational partners, workforce agencies, and training providers to strengthen apprentice development, retention, mentorship, and advancement. Leadership, Career Development, and Onboarding Develop leadership programs for supervisors, generalforemen, superintendents, project managers, and emerging leaders. Provide managers with tools and training for coaching, feedback, performance management, documentation, and employee development. Support career paths, competency models, succession planning, mentorship, job shadowing, cross-functional development, and individual development plans. Maintain consistent onboarding programs and 30-, 60-, and 90-day expectations for corporate,project-management, and field employees. Evaluate onboarding and development programs and recommend improvements based on employee, manager, and business feedback. Learning Systems and Program Administration Manage the learning management system, electronic training records, course assignments, schedules,completiontracking, training histories, and reporting. Coordinate training across departments, projects, locations, and time zones and follow up on overdue requirements. Evaluate program effectiveness using assessments, participation and completion rates, employee feedback, knowledge retention, performance data, and operational outcomes. Monitorconstruction-industryandworkforce-developmenttrends and recommendappropriate programupdates. Distinguishprofessional-developmenttraining from certifications that must be administered by qualified safety or technical personnel. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, education, business, construction management, ora relatedfield preferred. Five or more years of experience in learning and development, employee training, organizational development, or a related field. Experience designing andfacilitatingleadership-development and technical-training programs, with knowledge of adult-learning and instructional-design practices. Experience supporting construction, renewable energy, engineering, utilities, manufacturing, or another field-based industry strongly preferred. Experience administering a learning management system andmaintainingaccuratetraining records. Proficiencywith Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and virtual-training platforms. Strong presentation, facilitation,written-communication, relationship-building, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively at all organizational levels. Preferred Qualifications Experience in utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems,renewable-energyconstruction, or project-based construction operations. Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce. Knowledge of Davis-Baconprevailing-wage, Inflation Reduction Act, andregistered-apprenticeshiprequirements. Experience developing career paths, competency models, mentorship programs, or succession plans; CPTD, APTD, SHRM, PHR/SPHR, or instructional-design certification preferred. Working Conditions: Combination of in-office and remote work (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Travel up to 50% to active project sites, company offices, and training locations; mustcomply withsite requirements and wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to support employees across multiple locations and time zones; occasional early-morning or after-hoursavailability may berequired. Generalwork environment includes prolonged sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Work is primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions. Noise isusually lowto medium but may be loud on project sites.
