SCOPE : The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, delivery, execution, and evaluation of training and development programs that build staff capabilities and supports organizational priorities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Champion the Career Development framework, using judgment to identify, prioritize, and develop learning experiences that align with organizational outcomes and initiatives focused on workforce retention and effective succession planning. Partner with Talent Management and internal leaders to identify and assess knowledge critical to the organization that influences staff training, development needs, and effective learning activities. Partner with Manager, Learning and Development to collaborate with Group leadership and SMEs in delivering learning activities on schedule that focus on enhancing the learner experience, especially for a remote workforce. Partner with organization subject matter experts in facilitating online and/or in-person staff training, workshops, and seminars. Develop online learning content utilizing 360Learning, the corporate learning environment (LMS), applying instructional design best practices for a largely remote workforce. Evaluate needs and develop appropriate instructional learning materials including videos, job aids, discussion guides, etc. in collaboration with the Manager, Learning and Development. Responsible for planning and execution of Seed Company’s new staff orientation program, continuously evaluating effectiveness and refining based on feedback and outcomes. Partner with Manager, Learning and Development to evaluate training programs, using feedback and metrics to determine effectiveness, making appropriate modifications as needed. Assist in developing processes for capture, storage, validation, and retrieval of knowledge and build a central repository of such knowledge, and make it available for staff use, ensuring staff have functional tools to serve in their roles. Design, manage, and execute the Summer Internship Program to develop a strong pipeline of qualified, diverse talent for future opportunities within the organization. Assist in identifying opportunities to automate and create repeatable processes for all Learning and Development programs and initiatives. Apply AI tools thoughtfully within L&D and instructional design work to increase efficiency and quality, modeling responsible AI use for the organization. Work with external contractors managing training and instructional program deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within defined scope. OTHER DUTIES: Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain the required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies. Lead and/or participate in projects or task force groups that focus on issues having organization-wide impact. Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, printers, and smartphones. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. TRAVEL: Domestic travel is required, including at least one week for the all-staff gathering. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God-honoring lifestyle; Passion for the Word of God and provision of the Word for every people group; Championing the Seed Company’s vision, mission, and values; Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Learning, Communication, Human Resources, Business, or a related field. Requires at least two years of instructional design experience utilizing adult-learning experiences in a corporate setting. Experience working in a non-profit setting with an international audience is a plus. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes including high attention to detail. Proficient knowledge and experience of an LMS and online learning systems. Experience working with content authoring tools such as Articulate and Camtasia. Proficiency with MS Office suite. Excellent written and verbal skills, including high attention to detail. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Ability to work under tight deadlines and with multiple departments.
