We usually respond within two weeks Legal & Compliance Manager The Legal & Compliance Manager supports ROYC's legal and regulatory back-end: fund governance, KYC/AML, regulatory compliance for private market products, and the legal infrastructure that supports all funds currently managed by ROYC. The role reports to the Head of Legal & Structuring and works alongside the Head of Structuring and the functional heads in ROYC. Role Description Fund Governance & Compliance: Drive board resolutions, corporate approvals, and governance processes across ROYC's fund entities. Run KYC/AML packages and periodic reviews for general partners and counterparties. Regulatory Support: Build and apply working knowledge of the regulatory regimes governing private market products, and related compliance requirements. Support regulatory filings, Swiss representative requirements, and periodic review cycles. Legal Infrastructure: Draft and maintain subscription documents, side letters, distribution agreements, and engagement letters, escalating to external counsel where specialist input is required. Service Provider Coordination: Act as a day-to-day contact for external administrators, auditors, and service providers. Review DDQs and flag issues to the Head of Legal & Structuring where standards slip. Technology Support: Work with the technology team to help build automated, scalable legal and compliance workflows into the ROYC platform, from KYC/AML through to reporting and filings, and support testing of platform enhancements before rollout. Platform Compliance & Data Protection: Support GDPR, DORA, and related data protection and operational resilience requirements on ROYC's technology platform, working with the technology team to help embed these into platform design and operations. Key Competencies and Skills Problem-solving skills: the ability to identify and help resolve legal and regulatory issues, escalating where needed under deadline pressure from regulators or counterparties. Communication skills: the ability to express yourself clearly and professionally, in writing and verbally, including with regulators, auditors, and external counsel. Teamwork skills: the ability to build a close working relationship with the Head of Legal & Structuring and other senior stakeholders at ROYC, while coordinating smoothly across commercial, structuring, and operations teams. Time management skills: the ability to manage multiple regulator-driven deadlines (KYC/AML cycles, board resolutions, private market product subscriptions) without slippage. Attention to detail: rigour across legal documentation and regulatory filings, where small errors carry real downside. Ownership: willingness to take day-to-day responsibility for legal/compliance tasks within a defined remit, escalating judgement calls appropriately. Resilience: ability to manage a busy, deadline-driven workload across governance, compliance, and legal infrastructure. Preferred Profile Qualified lawyer or compliance professional, ideally with some experience across private market products rather than pure law-firm experience 2-4 years' experience in Luxembourg (or equivalent EU) fund industry legal/compliance roles Working knowledge of the regulatory frameworks governing private market products Hands-on experience with fund governance, KYC/AML, subscription documentation, or regulatory reporting Comfortable working within a defined legal/compliance remit, with senior support available Based in or willing to relocate to Copenhagen, Stockholm, or London Driven and intellectually curious, keen to grow within a legal and compliance function in private markets About ROYC ROYC is a private equity operations platform built to support GPs, fund admins, banks & wealth managers from fund set-up through wind-down.
