Role: Senior Associate/Legal Director Department: Real Estate Location: Manchester The Team Clyde & Co's Manchester Real Estate team is a highly regarded commercial real estate practice advising a diverse range of clients across the private, public and third sectors. The team has a particular focus on supporting developers and is recognised for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of complex real estate projects. Our lawyers advise on a broad range of property matters, including the acquisition, funding, development, sale and letting of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The team also has significant experience advising on transactions involving contaminated land redevelopment, as well as property matters for charities and not-for-profit organisations. The team acts for a varied client base including local, national and international businesses, independent and state schools, social housing providers, developers, investors and public sector bodies. The Role We are looking to recruit an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Associate or Legal Director to join our growing Manchester Real Estate team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced real estate lawyer to play a key role in a busy and collaborative practice, advising on a wide range of high-quality transactions and supporting the continued growth of the team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, lead complex matters and contribute to business development initiatives. Key Responsibilities Advising clients on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions. Managing acquisitions, disposals and asset management matters across a variety of asset classes. Advising developers on residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects. Supporting clients on funding and investment transactions. Negotiating and drafting property documentation, including agreements for lease, leases, transfers and ancillary documents. Advising on landlord and tenant matters. Assisting with transactions involving contaminated land and redevelopment projects. Building and maintaining strong client relationships. Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and trainees. Supporting business development activities and contributing to the team's profile in the market. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm and international network. Essential Skills and Experience Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales. Significant post-qualification experience within commercial real estate, ideally gained at a leading regional, national or international law firm. Strong technical expertise across a broad range of property transactions. Experience advising developers and investors would be highly advantageous. Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills. Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client service. Proven ability to manage matters independently while working effectively as part of a team. Experience supervising and developing junior team members. A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.
