Title: Legal Studies - Part Time Faculty Department: Legal Studies Institute Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus Salary Range: $1,114 - $1,203 per FLH Work Mode: This position is remote, however, some in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, may be required at times. Hours Per Week: varies Work Schedule: varies Position Type: Part-Time Faculty, Exempt Position Summary The Legal Studies Institute is seeking part-time faculty who can teach paralegal and legal focused courses in either a remote or in person environment. Familiarity with the Canvas Learning Management System is a plus. A strong candidate should have proven ability to teach college-level legal-based courses with a fundamental understanding of recent and future trends for the Paralegal field and experience with a wide range of legal-specific computer applications is highly preferred. In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility. Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Assessing student progress in meeting course learning objectives through formal and informal assessment, Holding in-person or virtual office hours, Meeting required deadlines for submitting grades and attendance, Participating in assessment and/or accreditation activities, Adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards Required Qualifications: J.D. degree Member in good standing of Maryland Bar or another state bar Prior teaching experience
