About Us Since our founding in 1990, Lemax has been at the forefront of the rapidly growing pastime of lighted villages. From a modest selection of quaint lighted houses, our collection has expanded to encompass a world of houses, figurines and accessories. Job Description This is a remote position. Lemax, Inc., a Canton, MA based company, engages freelance artists to conceive and illustrate miniature collectible figurines and accessories to be part of annually produced Halloween and Christmas porcelain village collections. Villages include buildings, accessories and figurines. Major USA retail accounts are Michael’s, Menard's, Ace Hardware, & other international companies. ​ The Building Artist will be responsible for creating new building designs to add to the Lemax program. You will be a part of a design team but work remotely to complete your projects. This is an Independent Contractor position. Requirements Education Bachelor degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience Minimum 5 years of work experience Strong illustration and coloring skills Knowledge of architectural renderings/elevations Experience with illustrations for collectible designs and holiday products Life drawing skills to design figurines a plus Strong creativity skills to produce charming buildings Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) 3D design experience a plus Ability to start with concept research and development and subsequently produce perspective artwork as well as alternate (rear, sides, and aerial) views for production Ability to produce final colored work (markers, pen, or photoshop) Experience working with a team of artists Ability to adhere to deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy in projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to take direction well from Art Director and be a team player English language proficiency required ave an understanding of American culture, Christmas, and Halloween holidays Prefer candidate to be located in the USA, Southern California preferred, but not required Benefits Part Time positions and Independent Contractor positions are not eligible for benefits.
