We are seeking experienced and licensed Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) to support our surveying and construction activities in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Position Overview

This is a flexible, hourly, as-needed opportunity for licensed professionals who want to take on assignments based on their availability. There are no guaranteed hours, fixed shifts, or long-term commitments. Assignments may be performed remotely, on-site, or through a combination of both.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, verify, and maintain survey control.
• Oversee construction staking and as-built surveys.
• Review field survey data, measurements, and calculations.
• Provide technical guidance and professional oversight for surveying activities.
• Review, approve, and sign and seal survey deliverables under your responsible charge, as applicable.
• Ensure surveying work meets applicable standards, regulations, and jurisdictional requirements.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in at least one of the following:
  • Maryland (MD)
  • Virginia (VA)
  • Washington, DC
• Demonstrated experience in construction surveying.
• Knowledge of survey control, construction staking, and as-built documentation.
• Ability to review and verify survey data and calculations.
• Ability to work independently and manage assignments based on agreed timelines.
• Strong technical judgment and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active PLS licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience in rail, transportation, or heavy civil construction projects.
