Join a global leader in maritime classification and certification:

Your career is about more than building a CV – it's a chance to LeaveYourMark.

Joining Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore means becoming part of a key player in maritime classification and certification.

With decades of expertise, we support innovation and transition in the sector by ensuring the safety, performance, and sustainability of ships, offshore infrastructures, and maritime equipment.

Our mission? To contribute to a safer and more environmentally friendly maritime world by providing our technical expertise and commitment to our clients and partners.

Join our teams! We are looking for a Life-Saving Appliances Engineer to join our Head Office located in La Défense (Paris area).

Join a dynamic team: Within the Equipment & Materials Certification (EMC) department, reporting to the Operations Department, you will carry out design reviews to certify the compliance of life-saving appliances installed on board ships and offshore units, on behalf of international clients.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Assess equipment compliance with applicable maritime regulations and standards through design reviews and test report validation
  • Support clients throughout the product approval process
  • Provide technical support to our international network (local offices, equipment surveyors, new construction and ships in service)
  • Occasionally join our surveyors at client premises for project follow-up, work meetings and test attendance
  • Take an active part in regulatory monitoring in your field, including within international working groups
  • Contribute to business development

The maritime industry is undergoing a major technological transition: wind-assisted propulsion, alternative fuels, electrical systems… Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore supports these developments, and you will be part of them.

Your strengths to succeed:

  • Education and experience: You hold a degree from an engineering school or equivalent in mechanical engineering or industrial design, and have initial successful experience, ideally in the maritime or offshore industry, which has given you solid technical knowledge.
  • Personal qualities: You are rigorous, pragmatic and a true team player. Attentive to the needs of internal and external clients, you adapt easily to new situations.
  • Language skills: Your command of English enables you to communicate easily, both verbally and in writing, with our clients and international network.
  • You are proficient with IT tools and have strong writing and interpersonal skills. Short international business trips are to be expected.

Compensation and benefits:

  • Salary: €43,000 – €50,000 gross per year over 13 months, depending on profile and experience
  • Performance bonus of up to 2.5% of annual gross salary, based on the achievement of company and individual objectives
  • Profit-sharing, incentive scheme and group savings plan (PEG) with employer contribution
  • Remote work after the probation period
  • Time savings account (CET)
  • Training: access to a language learning platform, a range of e-learning courses and job-specific training paths
  • Works Council (CSE): annual allowance for leisure and cultural activities

Why choose Bureau Veritas?

By joining our teams, you will take part in a wide range of enriching and stimulating international projects.

We support our employees throughout their careers through technical training and continuous professional development, ensuring they remain at the forefront of emerging technologies.
