The Life Sciences Account Executive for Leica Biosystems is responsible for driving territory revenue growth, market share expansion, and new business development across the assigned geography. This role creates and advances strategic opportunities, develops customer relationships, and delivers commercial results through disciplined territory planning, opportunity management, and execution.
This position is part of the Life Sciences Commercial Team located in our Cambridge, MA territory and will be remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Own territory revenue growth, market share expansion, and business performance by developing and executing strategic account plans that create new opportunities and accelerate customer adoption of Leica Biosystems solutions.
- Achieve annual sales objectives through disciplined funnel management, accurate forecasting, territory planning, and consistent utilization of Salesforce.com to manage opportunities and customer engagement activities.
- Develop relationships across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, academic, and research institutions while identifying opportunities to expand Leica Biosystems' footprint, influence, and share of wallet.
- Drive competitive conversions and workflow adoption by effectively communicating the scientific, operational, and business value of Leica Biosystems' Advanced Staining, Digital Pathology, and Core Histology portfolios.
- Partner with Product Specialists, Applications Scientists, Service, and other cross-functional teams to remove barriers, deliver customer solutions, and accelerate business growth throughout the territory.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of commercial, strategic account management, business development, or sales experience within life sciences, diagnostics, healthcare, biotechnology, research, or government markets.
- Demonstrated track record achieving or exceeding revenue growth, new business development, territory performance, and customer acquisition objectives.
- Proven experience in strategic selling, contract negotiation, key account management, and managing complex sales opportunities within matrixed environments.
- Capital equipment sales experience required.
- Experience utilizing Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms to manage forecasting, pipeline health, account planning, and business performance.
Travel and Motor Vehicle Record Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 60% domestically, including overnight travel.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout assigned geography and attend customer meetings, industry events, and company meetings as required.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, or translational research environments.
- Selling to biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical companies, CROs, cancer research centers, academic medical centers, or other complex research organizations.

The annual salary range for this role is $125,000 - $140,000. This role is also eligible for Sales Incentive Compensation (SIC). The total target compensation at plan (base + SIC) is $195,000 – $210,000 annually. Actual SIC earnings may exceed or fall below the target based on individual sales performance. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
