Linux Infrastructure Engineer

As a Linux subject matter expert, you will take ownership of complex enterprise environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure, using automation and modern engineering practices to improve resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency. Automate, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure using Ansible and other similar tools. Build, implement, and support tools and services to maintain the reliability of our infrastructure and its services. This consists of AWS native, open source, third party, and custom solutions. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate tasks and deploy infrastructure and applications in a consistent manner. Write code, scripts, and contribute to shared codebases. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in development, test , and production environments. Support user needs regarding compute and storage needs for High Performance Compute environments on prem and in the cloud. Participate in planned maintenance, and unplanned outages, and incident. 3+ years of experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar. Conceptual knowledge and understanding of frameworks of a DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) approach. Expert knowledge of Linux operating system fundamentals including experience with multiple distributions, building software from source, and Network attached filesystems. Expert knowledge of one or more programming and scripting language . Shell scripting and Python are preferred. Expert knowledge of on-premises and cloud native infrastructures. Expert knowledge of navigating a TCP IP based environment. Participate in a security first mindset. Experience in a VMWare environment is a plus.
