Linux Systems Administrator (Vilnius) Support critical payments infrastructure and grow your Linux expertise. We usually respond within two weeks The client is a Lithuania-based payments technology company working with POS terminal networks , transaction routing, and acquiring infrastructure. This role is focused on supporting Linux based systems that are part of business critical technology environments. You will work with Linux administration, virtualisation, networking, scripting, and operational support, helping ensure system stability, availability, and secure service delivery . The role is primarily office based in Vilnius. Since the company supports critical systems, occasional night work may be required and is compensated additionally. 🔍 Responsibilities: Administer and support Linux based systems , including Oracle Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, or similar distributions; Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux infrastructure to ensure stable and reliable system performance; Manage file systems , user and group permissions, processes, services, and system packages; Work with Linux package management tools such as yum, dnf, and rpm; Support basic network configuration and troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and SSH; Create, configure, and manage virtual machines using KVM; Configure and support basic virtual networking for Linux-based environments; Write and maintain basic Bash scripts to automate routine system administration tasks; Support system updates, maintenance activities, incident resolution, and technical documentation; Participate in planned maintenance or incident-related work outside standard business hours when required. 🎓 Requirements: 6+ months of practical experience administering Linux systems ; Basic understanding of Linux architecture , including file systems, permissions, services, processes, and package management; Basic networking knowledge , including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and SSH; Hands-on experience with KVM virtualisation , including virtual machine creation and virtual network configuration; Basic Bash scripting skills for automation and operational support; Careful, structured, and responsible approach when working with systems where stability and uptime are critical; Willingness to work primarily from the office in Vilnius; Understanding of backup and monitoring concepts would be considered an advantage. ✨ The Employer Offers: Opportunity to work with real payments infrastructure and business-critical systems; Exposure to POS terminal network, transaction routing, and acquiring-related technology environments ; A practical learning path in Linux systems administration, virtualisation, networking, and infrastructure operations; Supportive technical team and hands-on knowledge sharing ; Additional compensation for required night work or non-standard maintenance windows; Stable office-based role in Vilnius, with hybrid work possible only in exceptional cases; Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and technical capability.
