Litigation Associate

About the Role

Join a close-knit legal team as a Litigation Associate handling defense matters, primarily premises liability. This role offers direct collaboration with senior attorneys, mentorship, and the opportunity to manage cases from inception through resolution.

What You'll Do

• Manage a full caseload of general defense litigation from intake through resolution.

• Conduct and defend depositions.

• Appear in court and represent clients at mediations and settlement conferences.

• Work with senior partners on trial preparation, legal strategy, and client communications.

• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and case strategy documents.

What We're Looking For

• Two to seven years of law firm experience handling a full caseload of defense litigation.

• A Juris Doctor degree, admission to the New York State Bar, and an active New York law license.

• Experience appearing before judges and attending court conferences.

• Deposition experience, including conducting and defending depositions.

• Strong drafting skills across motions, pleadings, and discovery.

• Familiarity with New York City and Long Island courts; premises liability or general negligence experience is helpful.

• A collaborative approach and interest in a mentorship-oriented team.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $125,000 to $165,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid, with the primary location in New York City, New York. The role requires in-office work during onboarding, with a flexible hybrid arrangement afterward.
