Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

• Loan Officer Support
  • Assists the Loan Officer in preparing preliminary loan packages for processing by obtaining missing documentation and other information from customers.
  • Utilizes information gathered by the Mortgage Loan Originator to prequalify customers by utilizing various industry automated underwriting “AUS” portals to check eligibility.
  • Responds to customers’ general questions regarding policy and procedures in the absence of the Loan Officer, excluding all licensable activity.
  • Works with appraisers to obtain official appraisals.
  • Updates customers, real estate agents, and title companies on the loan’s progress.
  • Coordinates and schedules the loan closings.
  • Maintains Loan Officers’ databases of customer information.
  • Assists Loan Officers with marketing campaigns through mail, email, and internet.
  • Performs other administrative tasks, such as faxing, emailing, and making telephone calls, to support the Loan Officer.
  • Prepare loan packages by collecting the necessary documentation and information from customers.
  • Review loan files for completeness and accuracy.
  • Follow up on missing documents and resolve outstanding conditions.
  • Open escrow accounts, coordinate inspections and appraisals, and identify insurance requirements.
  • Pre-qualify customers using Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
  • Collaborate with processors, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to facilitate loan closings.
• Customer Service:
  • Respond to general customer inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and loan products.
  • Communicate with customers, real estate agents, and title companies to provide updates on loan status and progress.
  • Coordinate and schedule loan closings.
• General Support:
  • Maintain Loan Officer databases and records.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, including email and direct mail campaigns.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and product knowledge.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including emailing, phone communication, and document management.

Required Experience:

• 1+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data.
• Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners.
• Demonstrated experience critically thinking, researching and interpreting information, problem solving and making solid business decisions.

• 1+ years of mortgage lending or related sales experience.
• Demonstrated experience in retail loan origination.
• Demonstrated experience using Encompass360.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid knowledge and understanding of current business acumen.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures and regulations.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of Encompass.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of a variety of loan programs including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA and secondary marketing guidelines to manage complex loan level issues.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage-related terms, such as escrow, taxes, closing documents and insurance.

Minimum Education Preferred:

• High School or GED

• NMLS licensed, not required but preferred.

Physical Environment:

• This is a hybrid position that offers remote flexibility and will also require some in office time. Access to a quiet space at home and reliable internet is required.

Travel:
Local travel may be required for company or career-related meetings, programs and/or events.
