Fraud Prevention & Verification Analyst
Salary Range: $1,000 – $1,400 USD / month
Position Type: Full-time / Remote
Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
Position Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented and highly analytical Fraud Prevention & Verification Analyst to assist with carrier and broker approval reviews within the freight and logistics industry. You will play a critical role in preventing fraud risks before freight moves by reviewing operational data, verifying details directly with carriers, and investigating suspicious patterns.
This is not a traditional customer service or basic data entry role. You will actively investigate, cross-reference data, and directly contact carriers to make informed risk assessments. The ideal candidate is comfortable on the phone, sharp-eyed regarding operational inconsistencies, and able to follow structured investigative procedures.
Mandatory System & Technical Requirements
Candidates who do not meet these minimum equipment and connectivity benchmarks will not be considered.
1. Hardware Specifications
To efficiently run enterprise security tools, dual-monitoring software, and continuous web applications without lag, your computer must meet or exceed the following:
- Processor (CPU): Intel Core i7 (10th Generation or newer) / AMD Ryzen 7 or better.
- Example benchmarks: Dell Latitude 5420/5430 (i7), Lenovo ThinkPad T14/T15 (i7), or HP EliteBook 840 (i7).
- Memory (RAM): Minimum 16 GB DDR4/DDR5 (8 GB is insufficient for simultaneous VPN and VoIP routing).
- Storage: Minimum 256 GB SSD (Solid State Drive) with at least 50 GB of free space. Traditional HDDs are not accepted.
- Peripherals: Noise-canceling USB/3.5mm headset with a built-in microphone for high-quality phone calls.
- Camera for virtual meetings
- Open to using time tracking & productivity tool like Time Doctor
2. Internet Connection & Network Requirements
VPN encryption coupled with live VoIP calling requires both adequate bandwidth and low latency:
- Download Speed: Minimum 25 Mbps sustained.
- Upload Speed: Minimum 10 Mbps sustained (crucial for maintaining VPN stability while routing clear voice calls).
- Connection Type: Direct Ethernet cable connection (LAN) preferred. High-speed Fiber or Cable broadband required (Mobile hotspots, satellite, or public Wi-Fi are strictly prohibited).
- Latency/Ping: Below 50 ms to prevent jitter, dropped calls, or VPN disconnections.
3. Work Environment
- A dedicated, quiet home office free from background noise to handle professional outbound call activity.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Carrier & Broker Verification
- Review carrier and broker approval submissions from clients.
- Verify dispatcher details, phone numbers, email addresses, and operational contacts directly via outbound calls and emails.
- Cross-reference multiple internal and external data sources to spot discrepancies and operational red flags.
Fraud Detection & Investigation
- Evaluate fraud indicators, including VOIP phone usage, location inconsistencies, identity mismatches, and unusual operational behavior patterns.
- Monitor business history and authority status changes.
- Document all findings clearly and escalate high-risk cases to management.
Ongoing Monitoring & Compliance
- Perform daily risk monitoring for approved carriers (checking FMCSA authority updates, insurance changes, dispatcher/contact updates, etc.).
- Update approval statuses and maintain accurate, real-time investigative logs.
Professional Communication
- Place outbound verification calls professionally and efficiently.
- Clearly explain required documentation or verification steps to carriers and brokers.
- Maintain clear communication with management regarding escalated risks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in freight brokerage, carrier sales, dispatching, or general logistics/transportation
- Background in fraud prevention, compliance, or risk analysis.
- Familiarity with FMCSA/SAFER databases and industry-standard verification tools.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English skills with a comfortable, professional phone presence.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect subtle patterns, fraud indicators, and operational anomalies.
- Organization: Superior documentation skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing reviews accurately.
Benefits aside from working from home / anywhere
- Exposure to the U.S. Market: Work directly with our U.S.-based client, gaining valuable cross-cultural business experience and improving your professional English skills by collaborating with international teams.
- Highly Competitive Weekly Compensation: Enjoy the peace of mind of receiving competitive pay delivered reliably on a weekly basis, providing consistent cash flow and financial stability.
- Generous Paid Time Off (PTO): Receive a minimum of 10 multipurpose Paid Time Off (PTO) days per year. This single bank is for you to use flexibly for all needs, including vacation, local holidays, or sick leave.
