Logistics Specialist

At Fyffes, we are looking for a proactive Logistics Specialist to coordinate the end-to-end transport of temperature-sensitive fresh produce from origin to our sites, warehouses, customers and alternative destinations.

This is a hands-on operational role at the centre of our daily logistics operation. You will plan and monitor national and international shipments, resolve transport issues and rejected loads, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure deliveries arrive safely, on time, in full and within agreed cost parameters. Initially, the role will focus primarily on Citrus.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Plan & Coordinate Transport: Book and coordinate national and international road transport, aligning capacity, collection slots, loading, transit and delivery with customer commitments and agreed service levels.

Maintain Shipment Visibility: Track collections and deliveries, identify risks early and provide timely updates to Operations, Category, Account Management, Quality and other stakeholders.

Resolve Incidents & Rejected Loads: Coordinate responses to delays, missed slots, delivery problems and rejected loads, securing timely solutions or alternative destinations and escalating significant risks when required.

Coordinate Providers & Stakeholders: Work closely with carriers, freight forwarders, customs agents, growers, packhouses, Fyffes sites, warehouses and receiving locations to keep shipments moving efficiently.

Control Costs & Documentation: Maintain accurate transport and commercial documentation, monitor costs against agreed rates and budgets, support customs requirements and identify practical opportunities to improve logistics processes and ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant vocational qualification or degree in Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain, International Trade or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

  • 1–3 years’ experience in international logistics, road transport or foreign trade, ideally within the food sector.

  • Experience in fresh produce and temperature-controlled transport is highly valued.

  • Professional proficiency in Spanish, German and English.

  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of transport planning, shipment tracking, incident management, documentation and cost control.

  • Confidence using Excel and standard business systems.

  • Import/export, customs, German or Eastern European market knowledge is advantageous.

If you enjoy coordinating fast-moving logistics, solving operational challenges and keeping customers and colleagues informed, we’d love to hear from you.

Working Pattern

The standard working schedule is Monday to Friday, approximately 09:00–18:00 with 1h lunch break. The role is based in Valencia, with office presence at least three days per week.

During peak seasons, additional flexibility and remote on-call availability by phone and laptop may be required to respond to urgent logistics issues, including during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

On-call duties during peak periods may be compensated in accordance with applicable company arrangements.

Why Join Us?

  • Work at the centre of an international fresh produce supply chain.

  • Gain exposure to national and international logistics and some of the most important retail customers in the market.

  • Take ownership of logistics coordination and problem-solving in a fast-moving environment.

  • Work alongside experienced colleagues and cross-functional teams.

  • Be part of a collaborative team focused on growth, operational excellence and customer service.

  • Competitive Compensation Range: €42,000–€47,000 gross per year.
