About Marktlink Capital
Marktlink Capital is a Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Income fund manager headquartered at CitySide Amsterdam. We give entrepreneurs and private investors access to leading funds across Europe and North America. Our team of more than 80 professionals manages over €3.5 billion in capital commitments, invested by nearly 3,000 investors across more than 150 PE & VC funds. As a business backed by private equity (Inflexion) we are growing quickly and exploring how acquisitions of complementary businesses could support and accelerate our international expansion. This creates an opportunity to help shape our approach to buy-and-build.
The role
As an M&A Manager, you will help drive Marktlink Capital’s inorganic growth. You will identify potential targets, develop relationships with their owners and manage transactions from initial assessment through to closing. You will work closely together with the CFO, the board and our financial sponsor, and actively manage all advisors involved across the transactions.
This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to help develop our acquisition approach as we grow. You will need to move comfortably between market research, financial analysis, conversations with owners and the detailed work of keeping a transaction on track. You will also need the judgement to say when a promising opportunity is not the right fit.
Concretely, you will:
Manage M&A projects from initial evaluation up to and including integration planning
Execute day-to-day transaction work including coordination of due diligence, done both by internal teams and external advisors
You support reporting to the board, including deal tracking, recommendations and approvals as required
Work with legal advisers and other colleagues on transaction documents and take an active role in discussions with sellers.
Develop a view of how an acquired business could be integrated, and support with this post closing
Help build the tools, processes and acquisition criteria needed to evaluate opportunities consistently as our pipeline grows.
Your profile
You are a M&A professional who likes to be close to the deal. You can form a view on an opportunity, test it against the numbers and keep the people and workstreams involved moving towards a decision. You are as comfortable doing the analysis yourself as you are discussing its implications with senior stakeholders. You bring approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience, including hands-on involvement in executing transactions. Experience at both an M&A advisory firm and in an in-house M&A or corporate development role would be particularly valuable.
Additionally, you recognise yourself in the following:
A proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset, featuring strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical skills, and resilience under pressure.
Experience across several stages of the M&A process, from target assessment and valuation to due diligence and closing.
Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to turn analysis into a clear acquisition recommendation.
Proven ability to manage a transaction process, set priorities and keep multiple internal and external parties aligned.
Confidence in building relationships with founders, owners and advisers, including when conversations require tact or challenge.
Clear communication skills and the ability to present your thinking to senior decision-makers.
Why Marktlink Capital
At Marktlink Capital, you will join an ambitious, entrepreneurial and fast-growing investment organisation. You will have a direct role in assessing where we could grow internationally, building relationships with potential partners and executing acquisitions that make sense for the business.
What you can expect:
Competitive salary and annual bonus.
Unlimited holidays: freedom and responsibility in equal measure.
The opportunity to participate in our funds on favourable terms.
HP laptop and iPhone.
Significant responsibility from day one, flexible working hours and ambitious colleagues.
Strong focus on personal development, learning programmes and an FD subscription.
Office lunches.
An annual paid ski trip and other social events.
A modern office in Amsterdam.
Pre-employment screening forms part of our hiring process for successful candidates.
