- Use AI coding tools while applying strong testing, code review, and validation practices.
- Support projects involving machine learning, generative AI, machine vision, IIoT, predictive maintenance, and process monitoring.
- Establish and follow standards for data, models, code, deployment, documentation, governance, and security.
- Partner with plants and regional teams on implementation, upgrades, data capture, metric calculations, and user training.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, project support, and stakeholder updates.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, requirements, vendors, and change orders.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and apply those that provide practical business value.
- Support integration between True Opportunity (TO) and other Boise Cascade systems.
- Promote safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning, data engineering, or AI development.
- Demonstrated success delivering AI or data science solutions into practical use.
- Experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex, and with developing LLM applications or agent harnesses.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to validate AI-generated code, models, and results.
- Experience taking models from development through deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Working knowledge of Azure, Azure DevOps, Power BI, and related services such as ADLS, App Service, and Azure AI Foundry.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
- Willingness to provide mentoring and training.
Frequent travel to Wood Products facilities is required; approximately 25% travel may be expected for employees based outside the area.
Salary Range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000 DOE
