The Role: Mainframe Operator

📍 Location: Lisbon

🏢🏠 Work Model: hybrid - 2/3 days a week in the office

💰🏦 Sector: Financial Services

🗣️ Languages: English (C1)

✅ Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there

🧑 Mandatory Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)

• Provide z/OS Level 2 support, including batch processing and operational supervision.
• Strong background in batch processing and operational supervision.
• Hands‑on experience with TWS / Control‑M.
• Experience in real‑time monitoring and production incident handling.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure operational stability and availability of z/OS production environments
• Monitor and control batch jobs using TWS / Control‑M and real‑time monitoring tools.
• Manage incidents such as abends, SLA breaches, dependency failures, and perform recovery actions.
• Administer and intervene on system resources: disk space, JES queues, catalogs, GDGs, and datasets.
• Act as technical integrator, coordinating with Project Managers / ScrumOps during solution delivery.
• Ensure alignment with DevOps best practices (automation, security, observability).
• Produce operational documentation and reporting.
