Our client, a financial services firm, is hiring a VP-level manager to lead its mainframe infrastructure engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage teams responsible for several z/OS mainframes, covering JCL, DB2, IMS and CICS, source control, SDLC practice, and ACF2, RACF and TSS security.
- Coach and mentor managers, develop talent and build an engaged team.
- Drive cross-functional work with data center, production services and application development partners on new opportunities.
- Run delivery projects that span lifecycle management for mainframe hardware as well as software.
- Question how traditional services have been built, and mature them through automation and innovation.
Requirements
- 8+ years across multiple areas of IT, including direct mainframe experience.
- A track record leading a technical team and delivering complex projects and programs.
- SMP/E or other maintenance routines, plus installation of ISV software, IBM operating systems and third-party mainframe vendor products.
- Experience with data transport, tooling and utilities, as well as architecture and design principles.
- A clear communicator who can explain complex technical topics and influence stakeholders up, down and across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree (computer science or similar) or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Preferred: JCL, ISPF/TSO and IPL processes; an ITIL/ITSM background covering release, change and CMDB; securities or financial services experience.
Hybrid work arrangement. Visa sponsorship is available. Bonus eligible.
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $185,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
