Job Overview

The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer develops and maintains maintenance strategies, asset structures, and parts recommendations for Electric Wheel Loaders, Electric Rope Shovels, and Drills. This role leverages equipment, engineering, and field-performance data to improve reliability, support lifecycle cost models, optimize maintenance programs, and drive consistent execution across customers and global distributors.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical object structures, functional locations, recommended parts lists (RPLs), and maintenance plans across EWL, ERS, and Drill product lines.
  • Lead or facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and maintenance task analyses for new and existing products.
  • Analyze failure modes and reliability risks to establish preventive, predictive, inspection-based, and run-to-failure maintenance strategies.
  • Build and maintain asset history and reliability records within approved Asset Performance Management (APM) platforms.
  • Perform reliability analyses, including Weibull analysis, MTBF, MTTR, availability, and component life analysis.
  • Develop and validate maintenance intervals, overhaul strategies, labor-hour estimates, and parts recommendations.
  • Maintain and improve Life Cycle Management (LCM) KPI dashboards and datasets through data quality, traceability, and coverage improvements.
  • Collaborate with distributors, product support, engineering, and analytics teams to collect and analyze maintenance and equipment performance data.
  • Support Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and LCM models, customer proposals, and new product development initiatives.
  • Document processes, deliver training, facilitate workshops, and promote standardization of reliability practices across regions.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in maintenance, reliability, product support, or heavy-equipment engineering.
  • Working knowledge of RCM, FMEA, Weibull analysis, root cause analysis, risk assessment, and maintenance strategy development.
  • Experience with SAP PM, APM/Meridium (or similar systems), Salesforce, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret imperfect field data and develop practical recommendations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%, including occasional travel to mine sites and global workshops.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mining or large mobile-equipment experience involving loaders, electric rope shovels, drills, or similar equipment.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent reliability certification.
  • Formal training in RCM or FMEA facilitation.
  • Experience with Palantir, Python, SQL, Snowflake, or similar data analytics and automation tools.
  • Experience developing maintenance plans, spare parts strategies, and customer-facing technical deliverables within a global distributor environment.
