At Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, we bring together a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects to help the world’s most innovative companies unleash their potential. From autonomous cars to life-saving robots, our digital and software technology experts think outside the box as they provide unique R&D and engineering services across all industries. Join us for a career full of opportunities. Where you can make a difference. Where no two days are the same.

YOUR ROLE

As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, you will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production installations in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will combine hands-on technical support with a structural approach to improving maintenance strategies and asset performance across their full lifecycle.

In this role you will play a key role in

  • Developing, evaluating, and optimising preventive maintenance plans, maintenance tasks, and technical work instructions, ensuring alignment with equipment criticality and operational needs
  • Conducting and facilitating Root Cause Analyses (RCA) for equipment failures and recurring incidents, translating findings into concrete, preventive actions
  • Applying risk-based methodologies such as FMEA and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) to proactively identify and address structural reliability risks
  • Analysing maintenance data, downtime records, and process information to identify improvement opportunities and drive data-informed decision-making
  • Supporting multidisciplinary improvement projects from a maintainability, reliability, and lifecycle management perspective, contributing to technical justifications for equipment modifications or replacement investments
  • Collaborating closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams, communicating clearly on technical risks, priorities, findings, and progress

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a technically and analytically driven engineer who takes ownership of problems and follows them through to resolution. You are equally comfortable working independently and contributing within multidisciplinary teams.

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electromechanics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process technology, or a related technical discipline — or equivalent through relevant experience
  • Around 2 to 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or technical asset management, ideally within a pharmaceutical, chemical, or other process industry environment
  • Knowledge of maintenance strategies, failure analysis techniques (RCA, FMEA, RCM), and equipment lifecycle management, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable recommendations
  • Experience with a CMMS such as SAP PM, Maximo, or a comparable system, combined with good proficiency in Excel; experience with additional analysis tools is a plus
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders
  • A proactive, structured mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day operational support with longer-term structural improvement initiatives
  • Good mobility to the client located in Geel
