Management Accountant (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to provide maternity cover and support the effective running of our finance function. As a Management Accountant, you will prepare accurate management information, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and work with colleagues across the agency to support informed commercial decisions. This role combines strong technical accounting skills with a practical, collaborative approach.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare monthly management accounts and complete month-end activities, including journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.

• Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances and communicate key findings.

• Support budgeting and forecasting, gathering assumptions and maintaining reliable financial plans.

• Provide commercial analysis and insight, monitor cash flow and working capital, and support the management of costs, revenue and profitability.

• Work with colleagues across the business to respond to finance queries, promote consistent processes and support audit, VAT and statutory reporting requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a management accounting or similar finance role, ideally within an agency or other project-based business.

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant, or equivalent relevant experience.

• A sound understanding of management accounts, month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliations.

• Strong analytical skills and confidence interpreting financial information and explaining results clearly.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting or finance systems.

• Well organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities.

• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach to working with colleagues across the business.
