Management Accountant

Make the numbers count. Help us make an impact.

Remote Flexible | Part-time (0.6 FTE) | $110,000 pro rata + super | 12-month fixed term

Love getting the numbers right, but also want your work to make a difference?

We're looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Management Accountant to join our growing finance team at Impact Curriculum, working across the Impact Teaching Group.

This isn't just a reporting role. You'll help turn financial information into meaningful insights, support better decisions and strengthen the financial foundations of an organisation making a real difference to Australian education.

Who we are

Impact Curriculum is a national not-for-profit working to improve educational equity by giving teachers access to high-quality, evidence-informed curriculum resources.

We've created more than 11,000 lessons, and our resources are accessed by 90% of Australian schools.

Together with Teach Well and Impact Assessment, we're part of the Impact Teaching Group — combining curriculum, professional learning and assessment to improve outcomes for students across Australia.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in keeping our finances running smoothly and helping leaders make informed decisions.

You'll

  • Own the numbers: Deliver accurate month-end reporting, management accounts and financial analysis across our three entities.
  • Make the numbers meaningful: Help budget holders understand financial performance, identify trends and make better decisions.
  • Plan ahead: Support budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow planning and program costings.
  • Keep us accountable: Manage grant financial reporting, acquittals and support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Make things better: Work with our external bookkeepers to strengthen financial processes, controls and systems, finding smarter ways of working.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with curiosity, initiative and a collaborative approach.

You'll Have

  • CA/CPA qualifications (or be close to completion) and at least three years' management accounting experience.
  • Strong month-end, reconciliation, budgeting and variance analysis skills.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience with Xero or similar systems.
  • A knack for explaining financial information simply and helping others use it.
  • The confidence to take ownership, solve problems and thrive in a flexible, remote team.

Experience in not-for-profit finance, grant reporting or process automation would be a bonus.

Why join us?

  • Purpose with impact: Your work will directly support better educational outcomes for Australian students.
  • Genuine flexibility: Work remotely from anywhere in Australia, with flexible part-time hours.
  • Room to contribute: Join a growing group where your ideas and expertise will be valued.
  • Great people: Work with passionate, capable colleagues who care about what they do.
  • Keep growing: Access meaningful professional learning and development opportunities.

The details

  • Employment: Part-time, 0.6 FTE, with flexible working arrangements. Some opportunity to increase hours for the right candidate.
  • Contract: 12 months fixed term
  • Salary: $110,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience, plus superannuation.
  • Location: Fully remote within Australia. Sydney or Melbourne preferred, with co-working options available and occasional funded travel.
