POSITION TITLE

Manager, Brand Marketing

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Chief Communications Officer.

WHO WE ARE

At Step Up, we believe girls deserve to define and pursue success on their terms. By bringing girls together in inspired spaces – on and offline – we spark exploration and discussion of what’s possible. With structured support and access to a strong community, we guide girls towards their unique goals: first, by identifying those goals and then, building the roadmap to get there.

Step Up participants are high school girls and those who identify with girlhood and young women and those who identify with womanhood (ages 14-29), who are facing systemic barriers.

POSITION SUMMARY

Step Up is entering the first chapter of our 2027–2030 strategic plan: Step Up at 30. A Mentor for Every Girl, Everywhere. This new role is central to our priority of leading the movement: making Step Up known as the leading voice in mentorship for girls, growing visibility beyond our existing supporters, and building toward the organization’s 30th year of service in 2028.

The Manager, Brand Marketing will lead and execute Step Up’s marketing strategy across all non-digital channels, including brand design, experiential, collaborations and partnerships, merchandise, direct mail and more, driving awareness, engagement, and affinity for the organization’s mission and programs. This role is responsible for shaping and amplifying Step Up’s brand presence through integrated marketing campaigns, partnerships, experiential activations, collateral development, and other traditional marketing initiatives. Working cross-functionally with development, programs, and creative teams, the Manager will ensure brand consistency, elevate storytelling, and create meaningful touchpoints that inspire support, participation, and investment in Step Up’s work.

The ideal candidate is a strategic marketer and strong project manager who combines creativity, executional excellence, and a passion for advancing opportunities for girls and young women. This individual will help strengthen Step Up’s visibility, reputation, and impact among donors, partners, participants, volunteers, and broader community audiences.

This is a remote position with regular local travel and periodic air travel for national programs and events. There is a requirement for the candidate to be based within commuting distance to one of the following Step Up markets: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, New York or San Francisco.

HOW WE WORK

At Step Up, we intentionally cultivate a culture of authenticity, excellence and inclusion. We are a remote-first team working across our anchor cities, and we stay closely connected through cameras-on collaboration, shared learning and a weekly team bulletin that celebrates our wins. Our values guide how we work with each other and with the girls and young women we serve:

We’re committed to continuous learning at every level, through weekly coaching with your manager, a professional learning community and regular reflection on your goals and growth.
