Use your skills, experience, and talents to be part of something BEAUTIFUL! It’s a great time to be a part of creating the future of Marketing at Ulta Beauty. The Manager, Customer Opportunities & Activation will translate customer strategy and priorities into executable customer activations that deepen loyalty and drive value.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Strategy, this role is the day-to-day owner of the customer activation pipeline, taking prioritized customer opportunities from definition and feasibility through cross-functional execution, measurement, and optimization. The Manager will create structure in ambiguous situations, establish clear ownership, and ensure measurable business impact.
The ideal candidate is a data-informed, action-oriented marketer and problem solver who can connect customer opportunities to execution. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership, the ability to influence without direct authority, sound judgment when information is incomplete, and disciplined follow-through across Personalization, Channel, Digital, CRM, Analytics, Loyalty, and other partners.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
- Developing a deep understanding of customer behaviors and motivations, monitoring business performance in customer terms, and surfacing risks, opportunities, learnings, and recommendations.
- Partnering with the Senior Manager, Customer Strategy to translate customer strategy and enterprise priorities into an activation roadmap, conducting targeted analyses of customer and business data to size audiences, estimate sales potential, and inform prioritization.
- Leading cross-functional working sessions to assess feasibility and develop activation plans that support customer objectives – including alignment on audience, value proposition, channel, offer/message, data needs, timing, measurement, and ownership.
- Owning activation tracking and execution cadence and proactively resolving blockers to keep work moving through launch.
- Fostering connection and collaboration with cross-functional customer activation teams on measurement, performance, optimization, and rollout. Leading post-launch readouts to identify learnings and recommendations.
- Preparing customer and marketing materials for leadership reviews, highlighting performance and progress toward customer objectives.
- Maintaining knowledge of consumer and cultural trends, key retail best practices, competitive landscape, and internal operating processes.
THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS
- 5+ years of experience developing and executing customer, CRM, lifecycle, or marketing activations
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional activations from opportunity definition through execution, measurement, and optimization
- Strong ability to frame ambiguous problems, establish a practical path forward, and drive progress with incomplete or evolving information
- Strong analytical skills and excel proficiency, with experience using customer-level data and reporting tools to independently size opportunities, evaluate performance, and develop actionable recommendations
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority, build strong relationships, and create accountability across multiple teams
- Bias toward action with strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills and disciplined follow-through
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
