At Sibelco, we believe building a successful career is a two-way journey. We’re looking for individuals who share our values and vision, just as much as you’re seeking a company that aligns with your aspirations. Together, we can shape the future.

Job Description:

Are you passionate about building modern data platforms and enabling business transformation through data, analytics, and AI? Join Sibelco as our new Manager of Data & AI Platforms and help shape our future. We are a leading international material solutions company, with operations in 32 countries worldwide, built around two main businesses: Global Minerals and Glass Recycling.

Sibelco is looking for an experienced manager to lead the global team responsible for delivering, operating, and evolving Sibelco's enterprise Data & AI platforms and engineering. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with leadership, supplier management, and delivery execution to transform strategic roadmaps into secure, scalable, and reliable platform services that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Reporting to the Director of Data & AI, you will work closely with Infrastructure & Cloud Engineers; Data, Solution, and Enterprise Architects; Data Governance and Master Data Management teams; Data Engineers; Data Scientists; Business Subject Matter Experts, and Stakeholders; and several external partners, that support our ecosystem.

Our goal is to improve the scalability of our current operating model for creating and supporting different business cases: from data products to support data-driven decisions, up to AI applied to solve complex problems and challenges.

In the role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the global Data Platforms & Engineering team and translating the approved Data & AI roadmap into reliable, secure, and scalable platform delivery.
  • Overseeing the operation and evolution of enterprise data platforms, including SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, Microsoft Azure (Fabric, OneLake, Foundry, etc.), Databricks, and several other integration technologies (Mendix, AVEVA, Seeq, Trendminer, etc.).
  • Managing data engineers and architects capacity, delivery planning, suppliers, budgets, and cloud consumption to ensure operational excellence and cost efficiency.
  • Driving the development of reusable blueprints for data products, pipelines, and integrations that enable trusted analytics, reporting, and AI capabilities across the organization.
  • Collaborating with Architecture, Governance, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to ensure platform performance, production readiness, compliance, and value realization.

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Platforms, Analytics, and/or related technology domains, combining hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of modern cloud data technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SAP Datasphere, enterprise integrations, and data architectures.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams, managing complex delivery programs, and operating enterprise-scale platforms within budget and performance targets.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, compliance, service management, and operational best practices in global environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and supplier management skills, with a pragmatic and results-oriented leadership approach.
