The Manager, Data & Analytics leads the strategy, development, and delivery of commercial analytics capabilities that turn complex data into actionable insights. Working across business, technology, and external partners, the position drives scalable solutions, informs leadership decisions, and improves commercial effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Own the strategy, roadmap, requirements, solution design, delivery, validation, adoption, and ongoing improvement of assigned commercial analytics capabilities
- Convert complex business questions into analytical approaches, using claims, real-world data (RWD), CRM, patient services, market access, and other approved commercial data to inform leadership decisions
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and analytical transformations to create reliable datasets, automate workflows, reconcile results, and enable scalable reporting and analysis
- Independently lead complex analytics workstreams by establishing project plans and governance, coordinating cross-functional dependencies, managing trade-offs, and communicating progress, risks, business implications, and recommendations to leadership
- Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, data vendors, and consulting partners on data acquisition, integration, warehousing, and production delivery while remaining accountable for business requirements and quality acceptance
- Define and enhance KPIs, analytical processes, model governance, data-quality controls, documentation, lineage, and repeatable reporting standards across commercial analytics
- Perform HCP/HCO and site-of-care analytics, segmentation and targeting, patient-flow analysis, field performance measurement, brand performance analysis, forecast support, and scenario analysis
- Clearly present findings, assumptions, limitations, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including commercial leadership
- Act as a hands-on analytics leader and trusted strategic partner by advising stakeholders, project teams, analysts, and vendors and driving change without formal people-management responsibility
- Identify market inefficiencies, process gaps, and unmet analytics needs, then develop scalable programs and solutions to improve commercial effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; Advance degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry related experience in data analytics, business intelligence, commercial insights, advanced analytics, or a related field
- Experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports preferred
- Demonstrated ability to independently own analytics projects from requirements through delivery and stakeholder adoption
- Hands-on experience with large, complex healthcare and commercial datasets, including claims/RWD, CRM, patient-level, HCP/HCO, patient services, payer/access, or similar data
- Strong experience building dashboards and analytical solutions in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, visualization, and report design
- Advanced SQL and Excel skills; experience with relational or cloud data warehouses and ETL/ELT concepts
- Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders, IT/Data teams, data vendors, or consulting partners and reviewing deliverables against defined requirements
- Pharmaceutical launch, specialty-product, commercial operations, market access, field analytics, or forecasting-support experience preferred
- Familiarity with platforms or data sources such as Veeva CRM, Veeva Nitro, Veeva
- Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: OpenData, IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure SQL; proficiency across all platforms is not required
- Travel is required based upon business needs
Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
