Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity
Are you passionate about data, architecture, software development and analytics possess first-hand experience with cloud data platforms, cloud technologies, data warehousing, data integration, and API development? Do you believe in modern software development methods, teamwork, creativity and collaboration within a diverse development environment to produce the next generation of data - analytics platforms and services? If so, then we are interested in talking to you! Ally is seeking a Manager - Data Analytics to be a leader within Ally's data technologies development and management space. The ideal candidate will have personal experience implementing cloud data warehouse, data lakes, data analytics, and master data management solutions, including data ingestion, data homogenization - data preparation, data quality checking and management, structured and unstructured data processing, relational and no SQL data processing and applications, API development, advanced analytics, and business intelligence. Experience with modern self-service data capabilities, data management and governance, data modeling, and data architecture is also a plus. Responsible for managing a team of data technologies developers focused on delivering and maintain several applications that support Ally's operations. Candidates having strong analytical skills, hands on development experience, strong SQL skills, ability to multi-task, and strong verbal and written communication skills will be best suited for the team.At this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
The Work Itself
- Managing developers and analysts to coordinate and SDLC tasks to design and deliver solutions for system integration, reporting and support functions.
- Technical analysis of interfaces, files, databases and reports.
- Requirements gathering and analysis.
- Creation of technical specifications.
- Technical design along with definition for technology changes relative to the systems (and integration of those systems) within the Ally Insurance data ecosystem.
- High-level and low-level design of system interfaces.
- Troubleshooting and support of system interfaces.
- Moderate client engagement.
- Vendor management for incident resolution and for system enhancement work.
- System/application configuration.
The Qualifications We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of data management and data analysis experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field of study preferred.
- Experience related to data warehousing design and development.
- Strong knowledge and experience with one or more SDLC methodologies and/or principles such as Agile, SCRUM, Kanban or other.
- Ability to lead, mentor and manage individual contributors.
- Strong requirements gathering and design abilities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and delivering cloud-based data solutions on AWS, including services such as S3, AWS CLI, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
- Strong experience with modern data engineering and integration tools such as dbt, Qlik Replicate, InfoSphere DataStage, and CP4D.
- Deep expertise in data modeling, including Data Vault, and in designing scalable, auditable, and resilient data structures that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
- Proven experience architecting and optimizing large-scale data ingestion, transformation, cleansing, standardization, and deduplication processes across complex data environments.
- Strong programming and automation skills in Python and other scripting languages used to support enterprise data engineering solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise data pipelines using Git, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering approaches.
- Strong background in large-scale data integration, API development, and data migration across distributed systems and platforms.
- Deep understanding of data governance, data management, metadata, lineage, and data security, with the ability to embed these practices into engineering solutions.
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end solution delivery, working independently while providing technical direction across multiple initiatives and technologies.
- Insurance Business data domain knowledge is preferred.

Base Pay Range
$110,000.00 - $180,000.00An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation:
This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
