What We Need The Manager, DME Rental Programs , will report directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management and will lead a newly formed Rental Management team dedicated exclusively to Synapse Health’s active rental population of 100,000+ patients. This role is the single accountable owner for rental program accuracy, status, and the programs that keep that census clean. The Manager is responsible for clean, actionable data used for reporting and business analytics, and partners closely with Finance, RCM, Clinical Programs, and Supplier Payments teams to impact measurable cost avoidance with an emphasis across high-cost rental categories such as oxygen and ventilators. What You Will Do Rental Census Ownership: Own the accuracy and integrity of the active rental census across all categories and departments, driving cleanup efforts and establishing ongoing controls that keep active rental status reconciled to paid rental status. Patient Engagement: Lead patient outreach and engagement activities as needed to effectively manage rental programs to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the active rental census across all categories and departments. Implement outreach programs in partnership with other departments to achieve desired outcomes. Hold & Exception Management: Own rental hold management across the organization. Work in partnership with other departments that manage rental holds. Track, monitor, and report on rental holds to ensure they are worked timely and in accordance with documented policies and procedures. Ensure the proper enablers are in place to work rental holds (i.e., reporting, policies and procedures, price options). Drive leadership accountability for rental program results across teams. Travel Oxygen Program: Own the Travel Oxygen Program across the organization. Work in partnership with other departments whose teams implement the program. Track, monitor, and report on the activities involved with administering the program to ensure they are worked timely and in accordance with documented policies and procedures. Ensure the proper enablers are in place to work on the program (i.e., reporting, policies, and procedures, price options). Drive accountability for business leaders for their team’s results in administering the programs. Recertification/Requalification: Work in partnership with other departments that work recertification/requalification. Ensure the proper enablers are in place to work rental holds (i.e., reporting, policies and procedures, price options). Drive leadership accountability for rental program results across teams. RightCare Execution: Drive the execution of RightCare initiatives across all rental populations. Eligibility & Lifecycle Management: Manage ongoing eligibility verification for patients with active rental programs and drive the timely updating of insurance information, patient status, rental program status, and initiation of the pickup process. Team Leadership: Hire, train, and develop a team responsible for achieving the organization’s goals, objectives, and expected outcomes regarding the rental census. Data Quality & Reporting Partnership: Partner with Finance, RCM, and Data Analytics to validate the data feeding the rental census tool and its financial projections. Additional requirements include: 5+ years of DME experience, including 3+ years leading a front-line team with direct patient outreach and communication (preferably in a call center-like environment). Working knowledge of DME rental billing programs and mechanics (i.e., Medicare capped rental guidelines, cap period starts and end dates, requalification and recertification requirements, PAP compliance rules, and payor-specific rental rulesets). Firsthand experience managing an active rental program population at scale, with demonstrated results improving data accuracy and reducing non-utilized rental cost. Experience building outbound patient engagement or outreach programs, including call scripting, workflow design, and production management. Strong analytical and Excel skills; comfortable working in large data sets, building and maintaining trackers, and partnering with Finance and Analytics on reporting definitions. Skilled in drafting clear documentation and building efficient, scalable processes for evolving environments. Strong cross-functional collaborator and proven track record of driving cross-functional alignment and influencing external leaders to meet performance expectations and service levels. Proficiency with DME billing software applications such as Brightree or Niko Health. Result Oriented: Demonstrates knowledge in setting and achieving challenging goals. Compensation The base salary range for this position is $83,200 – $104,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions.
