Job Description

Leads enterprise end-to-end testing initiatives spanning Services, Data, and UI while owning Test Environment Management across the organization. Oversees quality risks that cross application, platform, and organizational boundaries and ensures effective coordination of E2E testing across teams. Acquires a deep understanding of the organization's applications, services, data, and test environments to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improving test execution. Collaborates closely with SQM, Development, Infrastructure, and Business Partners to establish priorities and facilitate decisions related to product quality and environment readiness. Leads the design and implementation of smarter, more efficient approaches to managing complex, multi-layered test environments and simplifying end-to-end test execution. Identifies opportunities to leverage AI agents and automation for environment provisioning, monitoring, healing, test orchestration, and self-service capabilities. Ensures testing processes, tools, and environments align with SDLC standards and are designed for scalability and reuse across projects. Collaborates with SQM leadership to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and provides technical leadership while actively contributing as a player-coach to complex E2E testing and environment management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the overall strategy for end-to-end testing across services, data, and UI, ensuring critical business workflows are validated across system boundaries, not just within individual applications.
  • Plan and lead large-scale, cross-team testing events (e.g., E2E test cycles, release readiness tests, disaster recovery/failover tests) that require coordination across multiple applications and teams.
  • Build and scale automated E2E test coverage across services, data, and UI layers, reducing reliance on manual cross-system testing.
  • Proactively identify, track, and validate upstream/downstream dependencies (services, data feeds, third-party integrations) to prevent integration surprises during testing and release cycles.
  • Own Test Environment Management — planning, provisioning, configuration, booking/scheduling, and stability of test environments across multiple projects and release cycles.
  • Design and drive innovative solutions for environment management, such as on-demand environment provisioning, containerized/virtualized environments, environment-as-code, and self-service environment portals.
  • Champion the adoption of AI agents/automation to reduce manual effort in environment setup, health monitoring, conflict resolution, and E2E test orchestration (e.g., auto-healing environments, intelligent test data/environment matching, AI-driven root cause analysis for environment issues).
  • Partner with Engineering, DevOps/Infra, Release Management, and Product teams to align environment availability, dependency readiness, and E2E testing with release schedules and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Track and report on the success measures below via KPIs and dashboards, using data to continuously improve automation coverage, environment reliability, and defect detection speed.
  • Manage escalations related to environment conflicts, downtime, or E2E test blockers, and drive root-cause fixes and long-term solutions.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in test environment automation, service virtualization, containerization, and AI-driven testing/environment tools, bringing new ideas into the team's roadmap.

Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years of overall experience in QA/Testing, with strong hands-on experience in Enterprise End-to-End (E2E) Testing across Services, Data, and UI layers.
  • Proven experience in Test Environment Management, including provisioning, configuration management, environment booking/scheduling, troubleshooting, and maintaining environment stability at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing testing teams, ideally covering both E2E testing and Test Environment Management functions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with API/service testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured, or similar) and UI automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization/virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) as applied to test environments.
  • Working knowledge of or hands-on experience with AI/agentic solutions for environment management or E2E testing, including AI-driven environment health monitoring, auto-remediation/self-healing environments, intelligent test orchestration, and AI-driven testing solutions.
  • Strong track record of driving innovative, scalable solutions to complex testing and environment management challenges, with experience piloting or scaling new technologies and approaches.
  • Experience with service virtualization tools (CA Service Virtualization, Parasoft, or similar) and monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, or similar) to support testing and proactive environment health monitoring.
  • Scripting experience with Python, Shell, or similar languages for developing automation, tools, and AI agents.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership and coordinate effectively across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with frequent releases and complex CI/CD processes.

Core Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinking and Analysis: Identify and evaluate complex issues, problems, opportunities, and organizational needs; analyze information from multiple sources to develop effective strategies and solutions. Anticipate future challenges and opportunities and translate business and technology trends into actionable plans. Ability to develop innovative approaches that improve quality, efficiency, scalability, and productivity.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicate clearly and effectively with senior management, business partners, development teams, and technical resources through a variety of media. Tailor communication to the audience, effectively present complex information and recommendations, and influence decisions across organizational boundaries.
  • Leadership and People Development: Lead, motivate, and develop teams by establishing clear expectations, priorities, and accountability. Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth. Build a culture of ownership and high performance.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Establish priorities and translate organizational objectives into actionable strategies, plans, and measurable outcomes. Effectively manage competing priorities, resources, timelines, and dependencies across multiple projects and teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Exercising Judgment and Decision Making: Evaluate complex situations and risks to determine appropriate courses of action. Make timely, informed, and risk-based decisions using available facts, business objectives, constraints, and probable consequences. Take accountability for decisions and outcomes.
  • Technical and Professional Knowledge: Demonstrate advanced technical and professional knowledge in position-related areas and understand how technology, processes, tools, and industry trends impact the organization. Remain current with emerging technologies and identify opportunities to apply new capabilities to improve quality, efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Relationship Management and Collaboration: Build and maintain effective relationships across business, technology, and leadership organizations. Collaborate across organizational boundaries to resolve issues, manage dependencies, gain alignment, and achieve shared objectives.
