The Role
In this enterprise leadership position, you will oversee professional coding denial operations and serve as a key partner to coding, compliance, revenue cycle, and operational leaders throughout the health system. Your expertise will help identify denial trends, improve processes, and develop strategies that enhance financial performance while supporting regulatory and coding excellence.
On an average day, you will:
- Lead and oversee enterprise professional coding denial management activities.
- Analyze coding-related denial trends and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Collaborate with coding, compliance, revenue cycle, and operational teams to resolve complex denial issues.
- Develop and implement denial prevention strategies that improve coding accuracy and reimbursement outcomes.
- Drive initiatives focused on revenue integrity, process optimization, and performance improvement.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for coding denial management programs.
- Review data and reporting to identify root causes and implement corrective action plans.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to strengthen coding and denial management best practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Significant (4+ years) experience beyond the required experience indicated below may be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor's degree
Experience: 7+ years of previous coding experience, to include 2+ years of formal management experience required. Strong preference for formal management experience in revenue cycle operations, professional coding, or denials management
Licensure: Active coding certification through either AHIMA or AAPC required; CPB preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The pay range for this role is $110,000.00 - $152,840.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
