You’re excited by opportunities to explore your potential and try something new.
You'll make a tangible impact on the people of NSW, using your finance and accounting skills to help build a sustainable and thriving transport network for generations to come.
In this role, you'll:
Lead Sydney Metro’s external budgeting and forecasting activities, including forward estimates, State Budget submissions, Half-Year Review and year-end requirements, ensuring high-quality financial outcomes that support organisational priorities and external reporting obligations.
You will coordinate complex budgeting and forecasting activities across the organisation, critically analyse actual and forecast financial performance, investigate material variances and budget movements, challenge assumptions and identify emerging financial risks and opportunities. You will apply strong financial and technical accounting knowledge to support robust forecasting, scenario analysis and informed decision-making.
Working closely with senior finance leaders, business areas and government stakeholders, you will translate complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations, resolve complex budgeting and funding matters, maintain strong financial governance and contribute to continuous improvement in budgeting, forecasting and external reporting processes.

About you
You are an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, management accounting or external financial reporting, developed within a large and complex organisation, government environment, infrastructure organisation or corporate finance function.
You bring strong analytical capability and financial judgement, with demonstrated experience critically reviewing budgets and forecasts, investigating financial trends and variances, challenging assumptions and developing comprehensive financial analysis to support senior management decision-making.
You are a trusted financial advisor who can take ownership of complex financial deliverables, manage competing priorities and deadlines and work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups. You are confident communicating complex financial matters, influencing stakeholders and providing clear, practical advice on financial issues, risks and opportunities.
Experience managing or contributing to complex external budget submissions, forward estimates, financial adjustments, government reporting or similar large-scale budgeting and forecasting processes will be highly regarded.
You also possess relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience and hold professional membership with CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
