The Role
You have built deep fund accounting expertise. Now you are ready for a role where your judgment, client leadership and ability to develop people have visible impact. At Trident Trust, you will lead accounting and administration for a portfolio of alternative investment funds, work directly with fund managers and service providers, and help strengthen a growing team in Vancouver.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a manager who enjoys solving complex fund issues, reviewing high-quality work, improving how teams operate and building trusted client relationships. You will have the reach of a global organization with the opportunity to influence service delivery locally.
Duties
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting and cash management for an assigned portfolio of alternative investment fun clients
- Review net asset value calculations, portfolio valuations, management and performance fees, waterfalls, investor allocations, capital activity and security pricing.
- Review financial statements, investor statements, client reporting packages, audit schedules and other complex deliverables for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
- Act as a primary client contact, understand governing documents and service agreements, and translate client requirements into clear, well-managed deliverables.
- Lead, coach and develop accounting staff through thoughtful delegation, technical guidance, feedback and workload planning.
- Lead the accounting workstream for new fund launches and client onboarding, including systems, banking, reporting and operating procedures.
- Coordinate annual audits and work effectively with auditors, tax advisers, banks, custodians and other service providers.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls, technology use and team efficiency without compromising quality or client service.
- Support scoping for new engagements and special projects and respond confidently to complex or time-sensitive client requests.
Maintain books and records in accordance with the accounting framework and reporting requirements applicable to each client, which may include IFRS, U.S. GAAP or other agreed standards.

- Complex, varied work: oversee private equity, hedge, venture capital, real estate and other alternative investment fund structures.
- Global perspective with local impact: collaborate across an international fund services organization while helping grow the Vancouver operation.
- Balanced structure: work with colleagues in person four days each week, with one approved remote workday.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in fund accounting, fund administration, asset management, alternative investments or a closely related professional services environment.
- At least two years of experience supervising, coaching or formally leading accounting professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to review complex fund calculations, financial statements, investor reporting and audit deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of alternative investment fund operations and the ability to interpret fund governing documents and client service requirements.
