About the Job

The Manager, HR Information Systems (HRIS), provides dedicated leadership and end-to-end accountability for SUSS’s HR technology portfolio. The role leads the HRIS team, establishes priorities and governance, and translates organisation-wide needs into an integrated HR technology roadmap. It oversees the HR systems landscape, projects, enhancements and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring that systems, data, automation and reporting capabilities remain reliable, secure and aligned with SUSS’s people strategy, operational needs and broader strategic objectives. The role also drives data integrity, innovation and effective stakeholder engagement across HR and the wider University.

What You Will Be Doing

  • HRIS leadership and governance: Lead and develop the HRIS team, set priorities, allocate resources, manage performance and establish clear accountability for effective service delivery.
  • HR technology strategy and platform management: Develop an integrated HR technology roadmap and oversee the governance, optimisation and reliability of SAP SuccessFactors and related HR systems in alignment with SUSS’s strategic and operational priorities.
  • End-to-end project delivery: Lead HRIS projects, enhancements, integrations and digital transformation initiatives from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, implementation, change management and post-implementation support.
  • Automation and innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging HR technologies, including AI, robotic process automation and workflow solutions, to improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability and user experience.
  • Data, controls and reporting: Strengthen HR data governance, system controls, integrations, analytics and real-time reporting to safeguard data integrity and support timely, informed decision-making.
  • Vendor and stakeholder management: Partner with HR, IT and business stakeholders, and manage vendors and implementation partners, to deliver solutions that meet agreed requirements, timelines, service standards and organisational outcomes.
  • Risk and service continuity: Proactively manage operational, data and system risks, reduce key-person dependency, and maintain robust business continuity and issue-resolution arrangements.
  • Capability building and user enablement: Oversee HRIS documentation, training and user support resources while fostering a high-performing, customer-focused team and driving continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Technology or a related discipline.
  • At least 8–10 years of relevant experience managing HR systems, digital transformation initiatives or enterprise technology projects; experience in a team lead or managerial capacity is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms and processes, preferably including SAP SuccessFactors across relevant modules.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into system requirements, solution roadmaps and practical implementation plans.
  • Experience managing system implementations, enhancements, vendors, testing, change management and operational support.
  • Knowledge of process automation, data governance, system controls, dashboards and HR analytics.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work across HR, IT, business functions and external vendors.
  • Proven leadership skills, including prioritisation, team development, problem-solving and accountability for outcomes.
  • Ability to adopt an enterprise-wide perspective, understanding end-to-end business processes and balancing HR requirements with broader organisational, operational, financial, technology, and governance considerations.
