McDonald’s Australia is the largest quick service restaurant operation in the country. Fondly known as “Macca's”, we have been a household name in Australia for over 50 years, we believe that our customers are the heart and soul of everything we do and make it our mission to make every moment count! As an employer of choice winner time and time again, working with us means taking pride and having fun along the way; while growing and developing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Could you be our next Manager, Learning and Development?

Do you care about building great people and great restaurants? Are you a leader who can inspire a team and make learning the Macca's experience? In this role, you'll lead Learning and Development for the region. You'll advise and partner with the business, and you'll be the go-to expert for all things L&D. You'll lead a large team of L&D Consultants who together will deliver high-quality training that changes behaviour and gets results in our restaurants and across the business. The role is based in NSW, with frequent travel to QLD to stay close to your team and stakeholders there.

What you can expect on a day-to-day basis:

  • Leading your team: Leading, coaching and developing a team of about 7 L&D Consultants, including succession and development planning
  • Improving how we work: Looking for ways to change how your team's workload is managed, and help improve Scaled Services. You'll give regular feedback on service quality and fix problems early
  • Building relationships: Building strong partnerships across the region with RDs, Sr Managers Field, McOpCo and Licensees. You'll be the main contact for strategic L&D matters and escalations
  • Facilitating and presenting: Delivering restaurant and corporate training, and presenting with confidence at forums such as SLCs and field operations meetings
  • Creating Macca's-only experiences: Driving engagement in events such as the Restaurant Managers Convention and the Future Leaders Conference. You'll also lead small, practical initiatives rather than large projects
  • Owning the details: Managing G&A budgets and charge-outs, looking after your regional training centres, and keep L&D processes aligned to Playbooks and ANZ standards

Your keys to success:

  • You have a proven track record of leading and developing a team of L&D professionals, and you actively support their growth.
  • You're passionate about creating engaging, high-impact learning experiences that every participant enjoys.
  • You take ownership, follow through and are accountable for results.
  • You're confident presenting to senior leaders and large groups.
  • You build trusted relationships with operational leaders, franchisees and other stakeholders across a multi-site business.
  • You have strong facilitation and communication skills, and you're comfortable using a range of training platforms and delivery methods.
  • Experience with McDonald's, whether in our restaurants, the field or corporate roles, is preferred.

Relish in the Macca's difference when you join the Golden Arches:
