It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!

Fullsteam is a leading provider of vertical software and embedded payments technology dedicated to helping businesses flourish by providing their customers with seamless experiences. With a dynamic and growing team of over 1,900 employees, we are committed to driving innovation and delivering best-in-class software and payment solutions that empower small and medium-sized businesses across numerous industries. Our purpose is to help our customers grow their businesses and delight their customers. Join us and be a part of a forward-thinking company that values growth, excellence, and the success of our clients.

We’re seeking a strategic, business-minded Marketing Manager to own marketing strategy, prioritization, and execution across a portfolio of business units. This role will act as the primary marketing partner for multiple businesses, developing a deep understanding of each unit’s goals, market, customers, and growth priorities and translating those needs into focused, actionable marketing plans.

The Marketing Manager will balance priorities across assigned businesses, determine where marketing resources can have the greatest impact, and lead a team of two internal marketing professionals. This includes setting clear expectations, delegating work, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, supporting employee development, and maintaining accountability for individual and team performance. The role will also engage and oversee contract marketing resources as needed and coordinate shared specialists across demand generation, content, digital, marketing operations, product marketing, and events.

Success in this role requires the ability to think strategically across multiple businesses while staying close enough to each to provide meaningful marketing leadership. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating competing priorities, partnering with business and Sales leaders, using performance data to guide decisions, and creating a proactive, results-oriented marketing partnership across a diverse portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with business unit Presidents, Sales leaders, Product leaders, and other stakeholders to align marketing priorities with broader business objectives.
  • Own the marketing roadmap for assigned business units, proactively identifying opportunities and recommending where marketing resources and investment will have the greatest impact.
  • Prioritize marketing initiatives based on business impact, growth potential, available resources, and strategic importance—balancing BU needs with broader portfolio priorities.
  • Direct and coordinate shared marketing resources across demand generation, content, digital, marketing operations, product marketing, creative, events, and other specialist functions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop two internal marketing team members through clear goal setting, effective delegation, regular one-on-one meetings, ongoing feedback, development planning, and accountability for individual and team performance.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, goals, and decision-making authority for direct reports, ensuring work is appropriately delegated and aligned with portfolio priorities.
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback and address performance or behavioral concerns promptly and consistently in partnership with People leadership, as appropriate.
  • Support employee growth through regular career and development conversations, stretch assignments, and individualized development plans.
  • Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable team environment with clear communication and consistent operating practices.
  • Identify when contract marketing resources (such as agencies, freelancers, and consultants) are needed to supplement internal capacity; scope, select, and manage contractors to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Develop clear briefs, objectives, timelines, and success measures for initiatives executed by direct reports, contract resources, and the shared-services marketing team.
  • Ensure specialists have the business context and direction needed to execute effectively while avoiding unnecessary layers or bottlenecks.
  • Own marketing performance for assigned business units, monitoring KPIs such as pipeline, leads, conversion, customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and marketing-attributed revenue.
  • Regularly review performance data, identify gaps and opportunities, and adjust marketing strategies and resource allocation accordingly.
  • Establish a consistent operating cadence with assigned business units, including planning, prioritization, performance reviews, and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage expectations and provide transparency around marketing priorities, timelines, resource capacity, and results.
  • Shift the relationship between Marketing and the business units from reactive, request-driven support to proactive, strategic partnership.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage successful campaigns, content, technology, processes, and best practices across multiple business units rather than recreating work independently.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership to assess business units against portfolio priorities and determine the appropriate level of marketing investment and support.
  • Ensure brand standards, messaging, campaign execution, and customer experience remain consistent while allowing for the unique needs of each business and market.
  • Surface risks, resource constraints, performance issues, and emerging opportunities to Marketing leadership and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Continuously improve marketing processes, planning, communication, and collaboration across the shared-services organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within B2B, SaaS, software, technology, or a multi-brand/multi-business environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and owning integrated marketing strategies tied to business and revenue objectives.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior business, Sales, and Product leaders to translate business needs into marketing priorities and plans.
  • Proven ability to manage marketing across multiple products, business units, or stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional or shared marketing resources, including demand generation, digital, content, creative, product marketing, marketing operations, and events.
  • Experience directly managing marketing team members, including setting priorities, providing feedback, and supporting professional development.
  • Experience scoping, selecting, and managing agencies, freelancers, or other contract marketing resources.
  • Strong understanding of full-funnel marketing, including demand generation, lead management, customer marketing, digital marketing, content, and sales enablement.
  • Experience using performance data and KPIs to evaluate marketing effectiveness, communicate results, and optimize strategy and investment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing initiatives and manage resources effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience working with CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and project management platforms; familiarity with platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Power BI, and Monday.com is a plus.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed, portfolio, shared-services, or decentralized business environment is a plus.
