About the opportunity

The Manager – Quality Engineering, Automation & Performance leads the enterprise capability for quality engineering, automation, contract/API testing and performance engineering across Australia Post Technology. You’ll also

  • Define and lead the enterprise Quality Engineering, Automation & Performance strategy, operating model, standards and roadmap aligned to EQTES priorities.
  • Drive shift-left quality practices including testability, contract/API testing, automation-first delivery and early non-functional risk assessment.
  • Contribute to business cases, vendor, sourcing and tooling decisions for quality engineering, automation, AI enabled quality and performance testing.
  • Standardise reusable frameworks, patterns and guardrails to improve quality outcomes across legacy, modern and integrated platforms.
  • Use data and insights to identify quality risks, duplicated effort, automation gaps and opportunities for enterprise capability uplift.

About you

We’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships and influence across Quality, Engineering, Architecture, Platforms, Delivery and Operations, driving consistent quality practices and shift-left ways of working, while partnering effectively with managed service providers, technology vendors and external quality specialists.

You’ll also need

  • Significant experience leading quality engineering, automation, performance engineering or software testing capability in complex enterprise technology & agile environments.
  • Proven experience establishing standards, frameworks, reusable patterns and governance for automation, API/contract testing and non-functional assurance.
  • Strong vendor and partner management experience, including setting expectations, measuring outcomes and improving service performance.
  • Strong understanding of modern enterprise technology delivery, including automation, DevSecOps, API integration, AI-assisted quality and performance engineering, and the quality risks associated with complex digital and integrated environments.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory, security, privacy and operational resilience requirements and how they apply to test automation, data use and non-functional testing.

What else is in it for you?

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
  • Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
  • Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
