The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. We partner closely with business leaders across the company to make sure Wealthsimple is allocating resources wisely, hitting its targets, and building toward long-term sustainability. Within Finance, the Tax team is responsible for managing Wealthsimple's tax profiles across a growing number of legal entities and products — balancing tax law compliance while enabling business strategy. We're a small, high-trust team embedded in the business, and we hold ourselves to a high bar for both rigour and clarity. About the Role We are looking for a Manager, Transfer Pricing & International Tax to join our growing Tax team and take ownership of the company’s transfer pricing framework. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys combining technical tax expertise with practical business partnership. You will lead transfer pricing policy, documentation, compliance audit and advisory work across the group, while partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, FP&A and business teams. The role is primarily focused on transfer pricing, with an opportunity to support broader international tax matters if/when the company expands into new markets in future. You will have the opportunity to help build a scalable transfer pricing function in a fast-growing fintech environment, including establishing processes, controls and documentation that support continued growth and future IPO readiness. In this role you'll have the opportunity to: Own, update and maintain the group’s transfer pricing framework, policies and governance processes, including the contemporaneous documentation. Ensure they remain aligned with the group’s actual functions, assets and risks. Lead the preparation and review of Canadian and international transfer pricing documentation, including local files, master files and supporting analyses, as applicable. Develop scalable transfer pricing processes, controls and governance appropriate for a growing organization. Identify opportunities to automate transfer pricing calculations, data collection and reporting. Lead transfer pricing analysis for intercompany services, technology and IP arrangements, financing, guarantees, cost allocations and other related-party transactions. Assess appropriate transfer pricing methodologies and oversee benchmarking and economic analyses. Manage transfer pricing calculations, data requirements and processes Monitor intercompany transactions and identify gaps between transfer pricing policies, agreements and actual activity. Review and/or design intercompany agreements and supporting documentation. Monitor changes in the business and proactively identify transfer pricing implications of new products, entities, jurisdictions and changes to operating models. For any special projects, manage external advisors and ensure deliverables are technically sound and commercially practical. Support transfer pricing audits, tax authority inquiries and controversy matters. Build relationships across the organization and proactively identify tax considerations before business decisions are finalized. Support the Tax team with international tax matters as the company expands its footprint. Monitor developments in international tax rules, including bilateral tax treaties and OECD initiatives, and assess potential impacts on the business. Skills You’ll Bring: 5–8+ years of relevant experience in transfer pricing, international tax or tax advisory. Strong knowledge of Canadian transfer pricing rules and OECD transfer pricing principles. Experience with Canadian transfer pricing documentation, T106 and T1134 reporting. Experience with intercompany transactions and multinational or cross-border operating models. Strong understanding of transfer pricing methodologies and economic benchmarking. Experience managing transfer pricing projects. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex transactions and develop practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tax matters to non-tax stakeholders, and translate complex transfer pricing concepts into clear, practical recommendations. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. CPA, CA, LL.M. or another relevant professional designation is an asset. Nice to Have: Experience in fintech, financial services, technology or another rapidly growing industry. U.S. tax or other international transfer pricing experience. Experience with intercompany financing and guarantee arrangements. Experience with technology, intellectual property or centralized service arrangements. Experience with transfer pricing audits or tax controversy. Experience with tax technology, automation or data analytics. Why Join Us? This is an opportunity to join a high-growth fintech at an exciting stage of its evolution and help build the transfer pricing function rather than simply maintain an established model . You’ll work on cross-border transactions, innovative financial products and evolving business models while partnering with stakeholders across Tax, Finance, Treasury and the broader organization. The role offers significant opportunity to grow with the company, with the potential to take on broader international tax responsibilities as the business expands internationally. If you’re a transfer pricing professional who enjoys solving complex problems, building scalable processes and partnering with the business, we’d love to hear from you.
