Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure and Governance, the Manager, Transmission leads a small team and liaises with specialist advisors to coordinate the Offshore Wind program's engagement with the Offshore Wind Transmission project. The role is responsible for monitoring delivery, ensuring transmission outcomes meet broader program requirements, and bringing together advice from across the program to support timely and informed decision-making.
Working closely with VicGrid, central agencies, the Offshore Wind Energy Victoria Investment and Sector Development Branch and DEECA Energy teams working on policy, the Manager, Transmission drives resolution of complex issues, manages key interfaces and dependencies, and ensures risks are identified, escalated and addressed through appropriate governance processes. The role plays a hands-on part in connecting policy, program objectives and project delivery to keep critical workstreams aligned and progressing.
The successful candidate will be a pragmatic and highly capable leader who can move comfortably between strategy and delivery. They will bring experience in energy transmission, infrastructure and project management, coupled with the ability to navigate complexity, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively to drive outcomes. Equally comfortable in governance forums and working through delivery challenges with stakeholders, they will lead by example and foster a culture focussed on accountability, collaboration and getting things done.
