Our client is an established, privately owned pet health manufacturer based in Southern Germany. Since 2014, they have been developing and producing pet food recipes and supplements for global brands. Their own B2B and B2C brands currently sit within one of their manufacturing companies. To scale and grow this portfolio, they are carving out the brands and their operations into a new company, and are now looking for the leader who will build it.

We are looking for a

Managing Director

(m/w/d)

In this role, you own the P&L and build the company from the ground up. You set up the go to market engine, hire the founding team, put scalable processes in place and launch two brands, all within a deliberately lean budget. You report directly to the CEO and work closely with the shareholders.

• Own the P&L, budget and financial planning for the new company.
• Take the business from zero to its first seven-figure revenue year.
• Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for two brand launches in year one
• Build and lead the founding team: recruit, structure and develop.
• Design commercial, operational and reporting processes that scale internationally.
• Lead performance marketing and sales channel strategy [DTC / e-commerce / retail].
• Manage budget allocation with strict cost discipline and return on investment focus.
• Report on progress, risks and KPIs to the Group CEO and shareholders.

what you bring.

• You are a sales champion at heart, with a proven track record in go-to-market strategy and sales leadership.
• You have a strong command of performance marketing (paid social, search, CRM, attribution, CAC/ROAS).
• You are hands-on and comfortable with ambiguity and lean resources, with a true entrepreneurial streak.
• Most of your meaningful experience sits in SMEs or start-ups, you thrive on seeing your actions have a direct impact.
• You’ve spent years in FMCG or consumer goods and understand the category.
• You have managed teams before: you’ve recruited talents and helped them thrive.
• You’re also comfortable with numbers, having managed a budget or held P&L responsibility in a previous role.
• You switch between German and English effortlessly.
• You’ve already travelled extensively in your career and look forward to doing more of it.
• And you love pets (cats or dogs, or both!).
