LLR Partners is seeking a Managing Director of Go-to-Market (“GTM”) to join the leadership team of its Value Creation Team. The Managing Director will report to the Senior Managing Director of Value Creation and will be accountable for helping LLR portfolio of companies accelerate revenue growth, improve commercial productivity, and build scalable go-to-market capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a proven, repeat Chief Revenue Officer or equivalent senior commercial executive with significant experience scaling SaaS and technology-enabled software businesses. The candidate will bring broad expertise across sales, revenue operations, marketing, customer success, pricing, channels, and commercial strategy, along with the judgment and interpersonal skills required to influence management teams and deal teams without formal authority. This is a player-coach role. The Managing Director will personally lead high-impact portfolio engagements while managing and developing a team of GTM professionals. The individual will rapidly diagnose the commercial issues and opportunities most material to enterprise value, translate those insights into practical action plans, and stay engaged through execution and measurable results. The Managing Director will be expected to bring or develop practical GTM playbooks, tools, benchmarks, and best practices that can be adapted and deployed across multiple portfolio companies to drive repeatable impact. The individual will also coordinate closely with the other functional leaders within the Value Creation Team to ensure an integrated approach to portfolio support. Prior experience in a private equity operating, portfolio support, or value-creation role—particularly at a firm investing in technology companies of similar size—is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Value Creation Partner with portfolio company CEOs and executive teams to assess GTM performance, identify opportunities, and develop actionable improvement plans. Lead engagements across sales effectiveness, revenue operations, marketing, customer success, pricing, packaging, channel strategy, and commercial organization design. Establish clear objectives, milestones, and measurable outcomes for each engagement. Help companies build scalable, data-driven GTM capabilities and translate strategy into measurable revenue and EBITDA impact. Develop and deploy repeatable GTM playbooks, tools, benchmarks, and training across the portfolio, including resources for sales management, forecasting, pipeline generation, pricing, retention, expansion, and organization design. GTM Investment Diligence Support investment opportunities by evaluating the quality, scalability, and sustainability of a company’s GTM model. Assess pipeline, forecasting, bookings, customer acquisition, retention, expansion, productivity, compensation, organization structure, marketing effectiveness, and customer success. Identify commercial upside, risks, required investments, and post-close priorities. Manage third-party diligence firms, consultants, data providers, and other relevant market resources, and communicate findings clearly to deal teams. AI and Emerging GTM Technologies Maintain a current understanding of AI developments and their implications for SaaS and technology-enabled businesses. Identify and help implement practical AI applications across sales, revenue operations, marketing, customer success, forecasting, enablement, and customer engagement. Evaluate AI use cases, providers, implementation requirements, risks, and expected returns, incorporating relevant applications into GTM playbooks. Team Leadership and Collaboration Manage, mentor, and develop GTM team members while allocating resources across multiple engagements based on expected portfolio impact. Coordinate GTM initiatives with the Value Creation Team’s other functional areas, including finance, operations, product, technology, talent, and data/analytics. Contribute to the broader strategy and operating model of the Value Creation Team and share insights, tools, benchmarks, and best practices across the portfolio. Stakeholder Communication Build trusted relationships with LLR partners, deal professionals, portfolio company leaders, and external advisors. Communicate complex commercial issues and recommendations in a concise, practical, and actionable manner. Present effectively to both investment and operating audiences while demonstrating sound judgment, humility, and respect for management teams. Candidate Qualifications Former CRO, Chief Revenue Officer, or equivalent senior commercial executive at multiple SaaS or technology-enabled software companies. Demonstrated success scaling revenue, improving sales productivity, increasing customer retention and expansion, and building high-performing GTM organizations. Experience working with private equity-backed companies strongly preferred. Prior experience in a private equity operating, portfolio operations, or value-creation role is a plus. Experience supporting commercial or GTM investment diligence, including familiarity with relevant diligence firms, consultants, data sources, and market resources. Demonstrated understanding of current AI capabilities and practical applications within the GTM function. Experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and engagements while remaining focused on measurable portfolio impact. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical judgment and business acumen, with the ability to move effectively between strategic issues and detailed execution. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional experience is a plus. Leadership Profile The successful candidate will be: Low ego, collaborative, and highly team-oriented. Comfortable influencing without authority and working through management teams. Equally effective as a strategic advisor and hands-on operator. High in emotional intelligence, judgment, curiosity, and personal accountability. Commercially rigorous, pragmatic, and focused on results. Able to build trust quickly with CEOs, executives, investment professionals, and team members. Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment. Motivated by helping companies and people perform at their best.
